**WINTER OF WOE - BONUS OBJECTIVE POINT**
As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.
This point will be distributed at a later time as it requires the team to pull and analyze data.
The timeline has not been set, but work has started.

  • Wait… that doesn’t apply to black tarantula right? Right??
  • I believe the reason most players in the late stage opt out isn’t because they cant push highly enough easily enough. Its that the sum total of those rewards is simply not enticing for almost any reasonable amount of effort. As a valiant, having increments of 1k 6 star shards gives me literally no reason to care about the…
  • For me the issue was the unit cost to swap between load outs not the time aspect. This is good for people whose complaint was “this takes too long” but not for me personally. Still holding out for a load out system which doesn’t actively penalize me for cycling through it
  • I think this was the first fight that felt “right” for WOW. Room for error? Little to none as a single sp2 would delete you. On the other hand, the ENTIRETY of that challenge (dexing the sp2) is within the control of the player. No regeneration shenanigans or waiting for them to turtle to sp3, it was a skill based fight…
  • After learning the sp2 dex there is literally no danger in the fight. The timing is: Gun appears dex. Knee hits the ground dex. Then its about a half second pause for the last arrow and you can punish it from full screen. I soloed every objective first try after learning the timing. DG took the longest at about 8min (mine…
  • Not at kabam, but which side? I did both itemless and could go back and record if you’d like

  • To clarify, you cant buy tokens at all. If you could you would then be able to convert loyalty to 7 star shards with tokens as an intermediary. Tokens can be acquired through season rewards and AW showcase. Shatter is what you bought and shatter cab be purchased with either loyalty or tokens. Shatter is exchanged for the…
  • Look more closely at your screenshot bud
  • Also, I enjoyed it too. My point was on a possible miscommunication not on the quality/difficulty
  • The first quote set the stage nicely for what this challenge was which I then contrasted with the second which was weirdly specific about what the event would be in a way that doesn’t align. My question is as follows: What about this design philosophy would make it a “revisitation” for players who specifically took…
  • The quote I listed leaves that up in the air which is where my confusion came from. They started to qualify it when they said: “When we showcase a competitive meta, we want to bring together some of the greatest challenges, most satisfying interactions, and even occasionally explore “What if…” scenarios” But then stated…
  • I think this is the huge issue. When you take the hardest assortment of fights from random paths and cobble them together you no longer have an AW showcase. You have a mini EOP with sugar pill. This is especially weird because in the design philosophy section they specifically mention that “For those who took similar paths…
  • I think the stronger criticism is that these fights were disjointed in a way that doesn’t resemble a path in war which are typically thematic. Granted this is somewhat made up for in the fact that champs like titania can cover a number of fights, its really odd to use an almost random assortment of champs who happen to be…
  • Humor me, if they came out and said “no”, would that, in any way, change how you interact with the game? This is purely for personal curiosity
  • Well, the Bible doesn’t specifically say that Im not GW. On the other hand Im an atheist, so I suppose we’ll never know
  • My group has theory crafted those solutions, but testing this season has shown the margin for error when fighting in those nodes without tactic becomes microscopic which is to say the counters are hardly counters
  • I can’t stress this blacklist issue enough. Let’s say, by some miracle, only Bishop is blacklisted. My alliance is stacked with r5 ascended, r2 and r3 bullseyes. What do we do? Well we ban Kushala, iceman and Wep X. Now, I can throw 3 bullseyes on hazard shift stack the final diamond and slap one on boss for good measure…
  • That loads the assumption that I trust the reasoning of most forum goers when it comes to things they agree with. I promise that isn’t the case
  • Hardstuck cav with access to 7 stars. Im one thread away from starting some boomer-esque “back in my day” comments
  • “I was a cavalier player for months!” The current valiant players were cavalier for longer than that bud. If you’re hardstuck Cav in 2024 then I am afraid that limitation is completely within your power to change. For free. And relatively quickly.
  • I had read what you said about considering under the context of endgame content. This doesn’t change my claim and I didn’t intend to imply that you didn’t offer any context. I just don’t agree that what you offered changes anything. To respond more specifically though, I think I would disagree that kabam doesn’t consider…
  • Oof. That blacklist point is something I hadn’t considered. X-Magica is lopsided in terms of the number of cracked defenders to offsenive threats and with Bishop and (possibly another tactic) champ gone we are gonna be REALLY scarcr on viable attackers. Those bans are going to come down with force
  • Just went back and read the cyclops discussion. So this was about featured crystal changes (from the old 25% to the new pool of new champs). The question about how champions were selected came up and Mike responded by saying they sourced data from AW/AQ with the intention of “avoiding poor performing champions”. The list…
  • I don’t remember the full context of the Cyclops comment but I can imagine the case where it was misconstrued. I can imagine someone randomly stating “No one ever uses him because he’s so bad” in which case Mike’s comment makes sense. It targets that notion with a counter that a contingency of users exists contrary to the…
  • Closest Ive been to anything sniffing the realm of cheat detection was fresh out of grad school when I had a stint in cryptography and that was… cough… a number of years ago. I’ll have to read through a few papers at some point to see how the current landscape looks
  • I can see how my wording was poor here. To clarify Im speaking about instances where (like the krakoan flowers), you can work towards a reward, earn that reward but then be forced to wait for no perceivable reason other than “we want players to sign in every day” which implies “We value engagement on a daily basis” which…
  • Issue solves itself if everyone just adopted the terminology of “MCOC counterpart”. Seems everyone is fine with the Comic/MCU divide. This is no different
  • Which makes it doubly hilarious that they hard code the reward distribution just to make sure we sign in daily…
  • Well since the is just got necro’d anyways I may as well ask now. Im curious if you have any knowledge about the system Necropolis was using to be able to handle the case of simulated responses. Apparently the content had some method of tracking data which could circumvent the issue of faked in game data. In theory, if…
