Im the main update thread Kabam mike said he'd check with the dev team, did, then confirmed it should still trigger md. Haven't seen anything since. Hope I'm just missing the post...

It was an unintended result of the update. Entirely separately from e.g. the magik power need a few months ago, which they rolled back on, mike went to check with the devs, came back, and confirmed.
