My Mole Man unable to block Yellow Jacket's unblockable special in Cavalier quest 2.2. Please note that I have full mastery in stand your ground and I have at least 1 monster mass. So is this problem a bug?

Hulkbuster unblockable special fail
I notice my Hulkbuster's specials sometimes do not trigger unblockable. At first I thought the failure is linked to his armor buff. Then I notice his specials can fail to trigger unblockable even when HB has armor buff. Can anyone please explain why sometimes his specials cannot be unblockable?
