Summer of Pain??? [Merged Threads]

Did this get pushed back or something? Summer is almost over, just wondering when , if ever, this will be coming out. Somebody mentioned that in some thread there was something about having too much content and pushing it back for a later date. If this is the case having no announcement is great (!).

It mentioned in the Dev Diary for quests that the summer of pain was coming later this summer. Any news or announcements coming soon regarding that?

They made a comment in another thread (can't find it currently) that it would not be happening this the summer.. but will be pushed back... they didn't specify a timeframe though..

We haven't made an official announcement, because we haven't made a decision yet, but it may be delayed. There's a lot of content coming out right now (Summer Smackdowns, Back issue 5, Cav difficulty), and it might not make sense for it to happen right now. It also comes down to team capacity. I will confirm as soon as I can.

summer ends September 22, the September/autumn equinox. it started on June 20, the summer solstice.

You guys gave the roadmap yourselves, nobody forced anybody. Too much content is such a ridiculous excuse to not release content just my opinion. I know no decision is made yet but this really feels like it will be delayed which is massively disappointing for me...

So you'd rather have a content flood, followed by a content drought of nothing, than having content spread out a little more? Seems legit.

Not only is there a lot of content in-game, but that means that we have to make a lot of Content as well. It is not easy to make quest content, especially when it's aimed at the top of the top players. This is a live game, and things are constantly changing, which includes schedules.

Nothing is ever set in stone, and we were not shy about making that clear many times in the past. Delays will happen.

No need to be entitled. They have releases a lot and have made a lot of changes for their users. This is something big they are working on and it is supposed to be a challange for the end of all endgamers. If I was an endgamer, I know I'd want them to take their time on it so that it is challenging, fun. And rewarding. Too much content is definitely not ridiculous especially when there are energy requirements involved, wars and quests, and the fact that adding too much in a short manner of time can cause server issues and maintenance again. And we all know how much we love maintenance

Yes I would, when it was announced that way. It is not like anybody forced anybody. If this had a title like " Showdown of Pain" sure but the title says otherwise. I probably expect too much, I should lower my kabam expectations like many ppl pointed out elsewhere lol...

It says "Summer of Pain (Working title)"

I guess you don't know what a working title is, so I'll explain. Do you know what the Xbox One X was codenamed as a "Working title" before its release? Project Scorpio. A lot of things have a placeholder name, or a "Working title" when it is in development. It doesn't mean that the name is set in stone, but it's just something that is usually referred to internally until a decision is finalised.

Just because you made an assumption of what it will be known as, doesn't mean you are right, at all.

So... 1 monthly event, A new side quest and 2 new characters every MONTH is not enough for you? Plus 4 new boss rushs and a showdown is not enough for you?
Monthly event takes like 2 days, side quest takes like 5 min and I really don't care about characters not really the point here lol. Also boss rushes are like 5-10 min quests for me too easy... Like i said I probably expect too much.

so we should be expecting you to win the summer showdown?

Well I didn’t know we were still in school. That’s the only instance where I would think summer is those three months
I’m just saying since they already released a ton of stuff. I’ll admit most of it is good sometimes it is obvious they are biting off more than they can chew. But overall I’d still give them more time to be able to complete stuff

That is a good example except Project Scorpio does not have something in it that specifies a time frame. Not my fault adding the word summer in it, it was honestly a pretty valid assumption haha. Also I never said I am right 100%, I am just expressing my opinion/disappointment no need to pull out trivia to prove a point lol

summer is a season, not a specific time frame of a specific year. It could be NEXT summer. the post said they were working, it never stated it would be released, let alone this summer, although they did imply it was their GOAL.

You guys (The Community) need to keep in mind the Kabam Team is only Human... They make mistakes or bite off more than they can chew, it happens.

Just because you're in the Northern Hemisphere also doesn't mean that "Summer" has a time frame either. Summer is a season, and that season is in different months for Northern and Southern Hemispheres. It doesn't donate a specific time frame. Had they said "Between June and September" and given a more definitive answer, then sure. The closest they said was "later this Summer" which is highly ambiguous at best.
