Misleading daily magic heist timer

Hi kabam,
Just wanted to say that the timer on the daily (24hr) challenge is EXTREMELY misleading. When you look at the timer, and compare it to others similar, it looks like you have 21 days to complete ALL the challenges.
I, as well as others in my alliance, assumed that a new challenge would appear daily, with a new timer. So (foolishly perhaps) we decided to let them build up and then do them all over the weekend. When we checked on the weekend, there was no additional challenges, so we completed the challenge, and only then did it reveal the 24hr countdown for the challenge refresh.
Please can this be amended so it simply says 24hrs for the time, and then the challenge will auto reset , rather than have 21 days on it (now 16).
Having seen it so late, some in the alliance, we can only get 32 pts and will miss out on on the rk 4-5 gem simply due to misunderstanding and assuming that the timer was accurate. When actually it wasn’t.
A challenge that has the possibility to reset every 24 hours, should have a 24 hr timer to inform users that they need to complete every 24 hrs. If there’s any way to add any bonus challenge points to make up for this that would be amazing. But we understand that you may not feel it’s warranted or it may not be possible.
Thanks

NO
Are they going to take reasonable action on this?
Again NO
Are Players going to miss out on a rank 5?
Yes.
Can anybody do anything about this?
NO.
But that’s buried in a forum post. So it’s there, but only if people look for it.
This sort of “additional” or “clarified” information about events should be sent in the actual game or quite simply be more effectively implemented in the first place by correctly assigning a 1 day timer to an event they want everyone to complete daily.
So
Using the word daily is one part of it.
Using a 24 hr timer is the other part.
Using the word daily, and then sticking a 21 day timer on the daily challenge just makes people think the daily challenges can be stacked, in the same way that you can wait for all the side quest events to appear and then run them all in one go.
As mentioned before, if summoners have to ask kabam for clarification on whether they could stack challenges, it means the information provided was insufficient or not clear enough, or misleading.
The addition of a 21 day timer is simply misleading. As it suggests you have 21 days to complete that particular daily. The expectation would therefore be that another timer would appear tomorrow with a 20 day timer for the next challenge - this thought process is understandable given what you’ve been presented with.
The result would therefore be after several days, you’d have several challenges each ticking down for you to complete, just like other side quest challenges that have appeared previously.
If you want to have people understand without any doubt that they need to complete a specific task every day, you put a 1 day timer on it. Simple. Anything else just doesn’t make sense.
Yes I do agree that this system is present in the bg challenge thing.
But that challenge is not tied to anything significant.
This one is most certainly as it’s directly tied to a large end reward.
Which is why I suspect no one has been bothered to complain about the bg challenge timer.
They should all just have a timer for their actual refresh. And they should all actually refresh when they are due.
Of course for some challenges you may be part way through and then it resets.
But I’d suggest that this is less painful than not being aware of the refresh and just taking your sweet time.
Even the bg reset. With infinite time, one could imagine a new person to the game thinking that it’s a one time thing and take days to do it only to find it resets. A very minor thing seeing as the rewards are minimal. So only a small sense of loss.
But as mentioned earlier, the rewards here are significant.
Hats off to kabam for giving us all a decent event that’s very attainable for little effort, but… hats back on an a grumpy face for them not ensuring the challenge expectations were clearly explained and not ensuring that the in game mechanics supported their expectations of summoners.
If your doctor tells you to take a pill everyday, you can't skip 6 days and say "Hey I am just gonna take 7 cause i skipped 6..."
DAILY is the key word
As per your example, it’s like one doctor giving you the pills, telling you to take it daily, then another doctor telling you that you’ve got 21 days to take the first pill.
Of course , when the 2 doctors meet, they should realise their error and tell the patient, sorry we meant take it daily, and the course of pills is 21 days (ie doctor no2 was incorrect) and actually, you’ve got 24 hours only to take each pill before that pill expires and goes off. And then they should apologise for misleading the patient into thinking that they had 21 days to take their first pill.
With clarity , it’s supposed to be 21 days worth of event. But the daily timer shouldn’t be for that. There is a separate 21 event timer in game for the event.
The 24 hr challenge should have a 24 hr timer. Anything else just doesn’t make sense.
Do you see a 7 day timer on this objectives?
No you don't cause a week has 7 days and they will reset in 7 days
The timer is for the event itself. I'm sorry that this may have confused you and some others. This is the same way timers are used in other areas and for other events. They are called Daily Objectives because they are meant to be completed Daily, much like our Dual Track events.
I will be discussing clarifying this somehow, but we do not have any plans to make any changes to the event or give out any missed points. The objective of this event was to encourage players to log in every day and play, and to reward those that do just that. This is just the start of Sagas, and while it may not be the best start for some, there's still so much more to come!
A 24hr timer is a 24 hr timer.
That timer appears when you complete the challenge.
It should be present and immediately visible.
There is no need at all for a 21 day timer on the daily challenge page, as it’s present on the reward structure already.
The word daily suggests that the challenge will be daily, but doesn’t suggest anything about recurrence or expiration without an accurate timer attached. So one could expect that a daily challenge with 21 day expiry, would be followed by another daily challenge with 20 day expiry and so on, until the event ends.
A daily challenge with a 24 hr timer suggests that the daily challenge will expire in 24 hrs
Appreciate your response, thank you for taking the time to reply.
The event is still awesome, it gives a lot really decent rewards for everyone and even with the confusion there is still alot to gain. So even with this, it’s still a big W for summoners and kabam.
If things like the above issue with timers etc could have better clarity in the future that would be awesome and allow more people to not miss out.
I'm not exactly sure how much more clear it can be that you need to do something Daily
From previous post (sorry the quote thing messed up)
It does have a 24 hour timer, its the word DAILY
Do you see a 7 day timer on this objectives?
No you don't cause a week has 7 days and they will reset in 7 days
End quote…
………….
That’s the issue I feel though? The precise information isn’t clearly visible. I think that possibly the daily, weekly events should also have the exact timer visible if possible?
If it’s a weekly event, there’s no easy way to tell when that should reset.
So for example that weekly challenge that you have a screenshot of.
When did it start? How long have you got to complete it before it it auto resets? There’s no info with the time.
The timer for completion is infinite if I understand correctly, but when you complete, it will set to the next reset timer.
So in theory for that weekly challenge, you could take a month to complete it, and then it’s reset to the next available release time for the challenge (let’s say Monday at 9am). So that weekly challenge kind of in this case is a monthly challenge for this summoner as it took the summoner a month to do, but it will reset at most every week if they did it quicker in the future.
A more logical way (to me at least hehe ) to have that timer appear is to simply lock in a 7 day timer to it, and once it expires it resets the challenge and you go again. The 7 day challenge is exactly that. A 7 day challenge.
It has 7 days counting down so you know when it started and when it expires, and you know that if you complete it early, the timer will continue until zero and then you’ll get a new challenge.
I think the way kabam did the extra daily crystal and the legend crystal in online store is spot on correct.
You have 24 hrs exactly to claim that paragon crystal.
If you claim it after 23 hrs, the next one will appear in 1 hr.
If you claim it after 1 hr, the next one will appear in 23 hrs.
So it’s exactly that - a 24 hr crystal . One crystal day , no matter when you claim it.
You have 7 days to claim the legends crystal.
If you claim it after 1 hr, you have 6 days and 23 hrs to wait till the next one (ie 7 exact days)
If you claim it after 6 days and 23 hrs, you have 1 hr to wait till the next one (ie 7 exact days).
Just makes perfect sense.
Your logic that makes perfect sense put you at risk of missing out on a 4-5 Rank Up gem.
My logic that apparently doesn't make sense is still on track to get it.
I guess it makes total sense.
I think it's unreasonable to expect players to have gone on the forums and see the clarification that they will disappear after 24 hours. We've been seeing a lot of ambiguous/misleading wording recently, such as with the 7 star 'nexus' offer for 6,000 units when it was in fact simply a class crystal selector. I read the description and guessed it meant it wasn't a nexus, but I certainly understood why people bought it thinking it was a nexus from the title description and I think Kabam acted fairly and offered to reverse the transaction.
I do think it's poor form not to give players an extra few objectives to complete, or free points to correct this as it's simply unfair to expect players to guess that the timer's were not displaying the correct information.
Although I think it’s more a case of not being swayed by a 21 day timer and just seeing “Daily” and doing it daily.
I’m short of 2 pts, will have 38 pts by the end of the event 😭
@Kabam Miike Maybe give us additional 1 day more, so that we don’t miss out the r5 gem (As the timer created the misunderstanding among many summoners)?
The 21 day timer is incredibly misleading, if I need to do something in 24 hours, then give me a 24 hour timer. Don’t add some secret other timer that I would only know about from reading forum posts.
