Issue with Pixel Bud w/ Pixel 2

So i got a pair of Pixel Buds (Bluetooth headset from google) but it has horrible lag with MCOC. I don't seem to have issues with youtube app or spotify. I've read if I turn off the HD Audio setting for the bluetooth it'll be better and it did get better BUT there is still a lag. The sound lag dropped from 1 second to .3 seconds... I knew bluetooth headsets aren't as good as wired... but this much of a delay is ridiculous. Is there a workaround for this? Is it some kind of incompatibility between the headset and MCOC?
