Question about "piloting" logic and family vacations

Because it hasnt been made clear how Kabams logic works to detect any offenders who "pilot", how do I make sure not to have the ban hammer fall on me when this morning I am in one state and in 10 hours five states away?

    If you play on your own device and account, you won't get punished. That's how you know you're safe.
    They said multiple times that they wouldn't reveal how they detected piloting, but your case isn't a issue
