Re: 96 fights in elder dificulty?
It's basically like the Crucible but harder, less fun, and with much less rewards. Good job Kabam
Re: VALIANT EVENT QUEST - CHECK IN!
Note to self. In the future don’t play content as soon as it drops. You’ll probably get banned.
Re: Elder Valiant Event Quest Difficulty Feedback
In theory, this could have been good, but it feelsl ike this was designed before Valiant Gauntlet, and the implementation has been woeful. Combining it with top 30 prestige has left a real stink on the whole thing, and that has not been helped by the shambolic issues of last night. Main issues being:
- Top 30 prestige has resulted in a nerf to the rewards that most were getting last month. Less T7B, less T6CC, less Titan shards etc. Unless you have 15+ r4s/29k prestige, you are worse off with this change. Slightly longer grind for lesser rewards is an L.
- The rewards are padded out with items of little value and seem based on around the time we were getting a 6* AG from doing objectives from 6 months ago. Unless we are going to get the opportunity to sell 6* AGs for shards, the two included are not going to be worth much. Likewise, mythic crystals, which have never really been great, and to a certain point ascension dust (4* for arena maybe, but I'm running out of 6* to ascend, and I won't be ranking any up past r3 due to Top 30 prestige)
- A lot of relic resources for the old relics but no shards for statcast relics.
- Daily Event changes being out of synch with the EQ dropping.
With 2, the obvious answer is that you are getting everything from the lower tiers, but it has not really been well thought out, and some stuff like AG's/Ascension will need to have some use for 39k prestige at some point (selling AGs or ascending 7*)
Overall, this should have been far better, and the prestige banding should have been lower. If you've managed to get every r4 available through content and a BGs deck of r3's you shouldn't be getting less rewards from EQ than last month.
Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
I was a pretty good player until I had a life changing motorbike accident. Since then I play for fun. I spend occasionally, enjoy collecting and expanding my roster. You know ,.. fun.
Unfortunately I’m back in hospital, in pain, attached to all kinds of wizardry, but that’s okay, I can still complete DSE by auto fighting EQ. Oh wait 😡.
Thank goodness I can still use Daily Event Quest, right?
Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
This post sums it up really well. I went into adaptive EQ with an open mind but the second I saw the first fight of the lowest level classic, which you have to do to even unlock elder, I knew I was done. The very first fight had a 30% higher attack rating and health pool than those in act 8.4.
I have no issues with having a hard difficulty but having the easiest difficulty harder than some of the latest story quest is insane. There is literally nowhere now where you can take a break from hard content and just have some easy fights or even auto-play for basic rewards.
Not everything needs to be Everest.
Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
In some of MCOC Encyclopedia's guides to Story Content, he calls out that Story Content isn't "going anywhere" - meaning that if your account isn't at a stage to take it on yet, you can go grind elsewhere in the game to improve your account and return to Story later.
And the key place you could go to grind out those rewards for account progression was EQ, with fresh rewards each month.
As such, EQ was a place to go with steady rewards to grow your account.
Adaptive Difficulty turns that on its head.
Now, to unlock rewards from EQ, the player is supposed to have first grown his or her account.
This is completely backwards.
Further, one of the fun parts of EQ was that when you were say, a newly minted Thronebreaker player, TB EQ was actually fairly hard. But as your account advanced, you could feel it get easier -- a reward from your hard work. Now, that's gone. The EQ content won't get easier; that experience is now lost.
EQ is supposed to be steady, and a source to build your account. Not adaptive and requiring you to have built your account in advance.
2. The Whales Already Own Everything Else
EQ isn't supposed to be a competetive zone. The game already has that. In droves.
Every month, the "big accounts" are already getting 5x+ more Radiance than I can earn out of Battlegrounds and Alliance War. And, that is what it is.
But EQ is supposed to be even footing for accounts at the same story-progression level. Not yet another place where the largest accounts are able to earn way more than the small and medium sized ones, further driving the gulf between the whales and the normal accounts.
3. What happened to Clarity, Simplicity and Approachability?
In Crashed's March Dev Diary: Battlegrounds in Focus post, he said he was focused on three goals of Clarity, Simplicity and Approachability.
This new EQ is NONE of those things.
Take a look at the screen that comes up when you hit "View Rewards".
It's confusing and overwhelming.
There are almost 50 different reward components you have to scroll through -- not even counting the "bonus rewards".
This content now thrusts yet another game currency - Etherion - on us to track?
There's a whole different presentation of the rewards as Reward Milestones, and I'm lost how that even works.
And now players have to be aware of, and try to optimize, Prestige. Which is hard to optomize - when you view your champion roster, the PI shown there factors in your masteries; but Prestige does not ... so who is my 31st highest prestige champ? Who knows! And how much presitge will I gain if I add some sig stones or do a rank up? MAYBE you can find random community charts to guage this on the internet, but nothing in game gives you any clue.
Clear? Simple? Approachable? Zero for three, Crashed.
4. Why are you fixing something that wasn't broken?
There is a whole thread of players telling you how much we liked Valiant EQ. It worked. It actually was simple, clear, and approachable. And, it achieved the stated goal of what you want with Adaptive EQ -- namely, rewarding roster depth.
Why did you blow it up after a few months?
This is so much worse.
Re: Elder Valiant Event Quest Difficulty Feedback
this is the most absurd thing this game has seen. Really thinking of just completely walking away. I have a top 300 roster in the world and have no desire to do act 9 level fights every month for event quest. What a complete joke.
Re: Is forum abandoned by Kabam staff?
the forums certainly seem to have been abandoned by the guardians. I haven’t seen a comment from one of those dudes in weeks.
Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
People don’t play as much as you.
They play a mobile game for fun.
When it’s not fun anymore, it’s done.
Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
I think what people hate is the scaling of the attack and health on the opponents. EQ isn’t supposed to be about crazier and crazier attack and health pools that’s no fun. There just trying to make money on potions and revives with this ridiculous scaling. They will see eventually when players stop playing EQ how bad they messed up the scaling of difficulty
