Re: This new EQ is the nail in the coffin for me after 10 years (small general rant)
Agreed. The push by the company to force players in a certain direction changes this from a game (fun) to a task (tedious and somewhat stressful). I have a stressful job, and I like to play games that are fun to relax. Not perform tasks that are tedious and stressful. It seems Arena (which I stopped playing due to time constraints in life) is the last bastion of the casual player. And that isn’t good. Time will tell….

They turned EQ into a boss rush. The casual monthly grind is officially dead...
This new EQ is the nail in the coffin for me after 10 years (small general rant)
I’ve been with MCOC since the early days. And my main account is pretty decent.
Even though I haven’t complained much over the span of ten years, the last time I did complain was with my main account that got banned from forums when I pointed out that after the acquisition of Kabam back then will lead to a disaster.
The early signs were there when Sigil finally got introduced years post-acquisition, and here we are. Because subscriptions were there to start filling that close that hole of a billion buyout deal.
Even though I read forums daily (without logging in), the volume of complaints says everything.
Sure, a few years back we had massive complaints too, with bugs and some champs like Darkhawk burning your phone, but it was never at this scale.
But today is the absolute nail in the coffin for me to leave this game behind.
I am not FTP, I have spent thousands over the years on my main account (on average 3-5K per year), and I quit spending a year after SIGIL was introduced because I could not find alignment anymore with how Kabam operates and how they are practically burning the DNA of the game into the ground.
I play in a retired alliance, with barely 7-9 players active. We play because we just do our thing and don’t even care if we win in AW or complete a single map in AQ.
EQ was one of those things that was still great about this game. Some units, some shards left and right and it was the one thing that was still right in this game, and you could just do it on autofight.
Kabam has lost its mind, and after they start hiring content creators with top tier rosters, it went only more downhill.
The combination of a buyout, a change of at least TWICE in leadership (CEOs) since 2017 and the inconsistencies of a team that says A today, but executes B a week later instead just highlights how bad of an operational framework Kabam has.
The current team at Kabam has lost its sense of how a game should remain fun, competitive, and drive enough money to fuel the game.
This new EQ format speaks volume. There’s no balance between simple content, intense everest content, and singular milestone content on a monthly basis.
I kind of felt it in my bones when they start messing things up with a video-poker style game, an arcade game and constant re-adjustments on “experiments”.
The moment I saw this poker-style game in MCOC, I knew my time has come.
I don’t recognize this game at all anymore. This EQ format, the recent new experiments obliterated the entire soul of MCOC.
Re: Is Everest content every month for worse rewards really what we're doing now?
I was doing the mutant one last night, threw my relic by mistake into the defenders block, biohazard kicked in. 2 poisons and splat. The 90% bleed damage reduction is a joke. The attack values and block damage are way overtuned for a monthly 🤣
Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
Yeah it is too much work for too little in return.
I never post here but this massive L made me sign in just to give my honest opinion: this change will seriously hurt the game. And many, probably including myself, will stop playing…
Re: Elder eq
They should be embarrassed for releasing this content. But let's be honest, in Kabam's mind - Kabam can do no wrong.
Is Everest content every month for worse rewards really what we're doing now?
I was finally able to get to the Elder difficulty after being graciously unbanned by our overlords.
This is literally just a worse version of the actual crucible EVEREST CONTENT with worse rewards that we are expected to do every month. What the actual f*ck.
If I don't pull Nico out of the next titan reset, im borderline out if we don't get actual confirmation that this will change
Re: can some mods take down my posts
Kabam don't care about forums,
Soon it'll be Kabam don't care about discord
And finally Kabam don't care about MCoC.
Re: Prestige Reward Increase Scales Horribly! ⬇️ Good…
What?
This change is almost the exact opposite of what you are talking. about.
Before using only a couple specific champs mattered much more, it actually made a difference in who you took up. Now taking up a high prestige champ matters much less to the average/above average player because it's taking into account 30 champs instead of just 5.
Just some quick math. Difference between Sig 200 R4 Onslaught and Sig 200 R4Spider Punk for arguments sake. It's about ~700 prestige difference between the two. In the old system ranking up Onslaught would have been 700/5 = 140 more prestige to your account based on the 5 champ system compared to ranking up Punk.
With the new system it's 700/30 = 23.3. So ranking up Onslaught over Punk (In a Sig 200 scenario) would only add an extra 23 prestige lol.
In summary, rank up who you like, it matters much less now than before.
Re: This new EQ is the nail in the coffin for me after 10 years (small general rant)
I agree with this, I'm not free to play but I'm casual. How is taking away options from players a good thing? I just finished Act 8.4.6, two days ago. I have 2 R4 7* and quite a few R3s. This quest content with long fights and nodes that need to be researched before deciding paths, take everything away from the casual gaming experience.
I think the developers are catering to a niche community and are out of sync with the wider audience base. I mean its great if you're a Youtuber, you get to make more content and get more views, but the larger audience base seems to be alienated.
