Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
I’m on Quest 3 of Elder… and this is 1000% the worst type of content. It’s like the Wheel of Fate genius thought doubling down with less interesting monthly design would change our minds…
1.) it’s not interesting or engaging. It’s lazy recycled TB EQ… with larger attack and HP… and it took us 2 to 3 years to come up with this concept… I mean yawn
2.) it’s not challenging, insane block damage and AI that’s having a seizure do not equal challenging, and that’s about all it has going for it
3.) it is unbelievably long for what EQ should be, and that’s putting aside the stupendously horrid decision to require classic. Even if that wasn’t required these fights are still overly long unless you have a perfect counter… which for archaic modes designed for TB EQ… just don’t make sense over 15+ fights.
Im glad I started this horrific **** show now… as the completionist in me will need all month to get motivated enough to slog through this ****.
What’s the point of testing these last months if you’re just gonna do something completely different anyways. The arrogance is peak
Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
A lot of the stuff in here I agree with. I also wanted to add that this node design is stale and outdated. How are you going to give us a tech node requiring us to have armor up buffs, when within the last two years, you have given us ONE champ with an armor up buff. And she (ironheart) doesn’t even work with the node due to her reducing the opponent’s ability accuracy!
You don’t even need to reinvent the wheel! Just make it armor up effects and it would be better! But man, some creativity with these nodes would make the experience at least a little better. It’s hard to see a positive with this adaptive EQ outside the theory of it. Its great on paper, just has been executed extremely poorly
Re: Is the new Event Quest actually worth doing? 👍🏽👎🏽
Nah! I've now come to my senses and realized that the elder difficulty is just that way for no good reason. Champ swaps don't restore health to full and these defenders hit harder than it is necessary. One shouldn't even parry.
Re: Is the new Event Quest actually worth doing? 👍🏽👎🏽
Honestly, no. In my opinion, this is the biggest miss from Kabam in a long while. What I liked about this format when they first introduced it a couple of months ago, was that it forced me to not rely only on my top attackers. I really liked that. It made me really explore my own roster and even use some champs that I hadn't really ranked up, which was a ton of fun.
However, they've cranked up both the attack and health values of the defenders to such ridiculous amounts that it's not really viable to go in with r1 (and barely even r2) 7*s. There are some god-tier 6*s that you could use, but those are severely outmatched by those defender stat values as well. The problem with this is that a gauntlet of 15 fights where you can't use the same champion twice takes an enormous toll on your roster, especially since you need the champions you bring to have specific pieces of utility. For example, the attack values are so high in the mutant quest so that the usual 90% bleed potency reduction does basically nothing to shield you from any damage if you bring a champion that isn't bleed immune/resistant.
Case in point. While I'm a bit rusty playing with Kitty, this is nonetheless the type of node that she would normally be able to handle. But nah.
But even if the node doesn't screw you over, the health pools (up to around a million health in the later chapters) just makes everything a slog to get through. If you've got a perfect r3 champion to deal with a defender in a way that grants you the fury passives or whatever the nodes give you, of course you can take them down in a somewhat timely fashion. But if you're bringing in a lower-ranked champion who can't gain those benefits, suddenly you're looking at a huge challenge.
It's just the revive-hungriest EQ I've seen since I became Uncollected back in the day. Slip up once and it's bye-bye for you, because the attack ratings are insane. If you look at 9.2, the attack ratings there among the path defenders are around 10K. In Elder difficulty, every defender on every path has an attack rating around 24K.
And the rewards are…okay. I would be happy with them if I was required to put in an average EQ effort. But if I'm required to put in some kind of BS endgame-type effort, I really don't think they measure up.
So, no, I don't recommend anyone going for full completion. It might be worthwhile to try it out just so that you have some meat on your bones if you want to tell Kabam how much it sucks (that's why I eventually powered through it all), but that's about it.
Re: Is the new Event Quest actually worth doing? 👍🏽👎🏽
The rewards are given out through some milestones instead of completion-exploration. You first have to do classic difficulty once, which is long and boring, and then you can do like gauntlet, wich is long and has like 15-20 fights with more or less same outdated nodes. For example, in mutant quest you need bleed immune champs, and for mystic you want to nullify buffs. The problem is most new champs don't do that, so you may end up using 5* champs vs huge attack opponents, and block damage eats away your health pretty fast.
I'd say the biggest issues are how they push prestige thing that's not even visible in game and that you can't estimate for champs you haven't ranked up yet; how outdated, long and tedious it is; how they removed units to bs daily quests; how daily quests don't have complete button; that rewards are tied to prestige, although the content is the same, so I'd say the effort is less for people with more ranked champs, but the rewards are bigger, and the gap is only to grow.
Is it worth doing? Most likely yes, if you did eq before, although it looks like you might get less rewards now. Is it better now? Definitely no
Re: Is the new Event Quest actually worth doing? 👍🏽👎🏽
Not at all worth doing. I'm getting what was previously Valiant level defenders and only eligible for level 1/15 rewards. 🤔
I have 18k prestige. An absolutely horrible change. I'm never touching it again in this form…. Dont even mention Elder difficulty hahaha 😂

I’m currently exploring classic difficulty because even at an eight million roster, I still don’t have the mutants that are bleed immune, mystics to nullify, techs to armor up, cosmics to gain specific buffs, or science to debuff for 15-20 fights. EQ used to be a spot to collect a few cheap easy rewards but now it seems they lowered the floor and increased the ceiling and to get the same rewards I used to get I have to explore content that will take hours or unit dump in a new difficulty mode, new AI they are testing out. Hard no from me
Re: VALIANT EVENT QUEST - CHECK IN!
Open your eyes, guys.
It's clear that this whole movement to change the EQ is to encourage players to spend more money buying resources and pursuing the top 30 characters with the highest prestige. Not to mention buying potions and revives.
The only people who benefit from this new prestige scheme are the whales who inhabit the top 100+ players in the game. They are always getting all the new champions at launch and evolving them to the maximum (7 stars, r4 x 200).
The casual player with prestige 01/15 will face the same difficulty as the player with prestige 15/15 and receive fewer rewards. Does that seem fair to you? Basically, you're doing the same work (or more because your roster isn't full of 7 stars r4 x 200) and earning fewer rewards for it, simply because you haven't played the game long enough and haven't spent enough money to reach the pinnacle of 15/15 prestige.
The rewards should be based on each player's skill in overcoming challenges, not on how much money they spent to get the top 30 most prestigious characters.
I mentioned this in my previous comment, but again, Kabam is a company and clearly needs to make a profit, but there are numerous ways they can improve profits without compromising player enjoyment.
Re: I know I'm not the only one ...
I seriously question if they even discuss “fun” anymore in their meetings…. At least in terms of the average to above average player.
Everest or here is some poker/turn based RPG is not it
