Re: Any tips for the latest incursions?
None of those are saga champs for incursions.
Re: Heartfelt question about deadpool quest..
Why have class themed paths and then a random selection?
Re: Shame on you Kabam
I could see that being an option. However, I don't think its technically feasible for reasons related to how Kabam chose to deal with max sig crystals from Titan dups. They said they couldn't just tell the game to give the players something different if the dup came from a Titan, because the game engine doesn't "know" where the dup came from in that sense. It just sees a dup and drops the standard rewards for dup.
I know it is possible to make a champ that doesn't offer dup rewards or different ones, because that was the standard with the basic arena champ. But I think that was the result of making the actual reward different from a standard dup, which would suggest the only way to do this would be to make replacement crystals with completely different reward pools, each requiring the creation of different rewards replacing the standard champion drops.
That would likely a) take a ton of time and b) be itself vulnerable to errors creeping in, which would create the circular problem of having to compensate for broken compensation crystals.
You could also make special compensation crystals with a (rare) chance to drop one of the missing champs, and a large chance to drop nothing - this would in effect "fill in the gap" of statistical probability of losing the chance to acquire those champs. However, I'm not sure how acceptable that would be. A lot of players would not understand why they had such crystals or why they were not dropping anything, or the expected thing (i.e. a 7* champ). Informed players would understand, but there would be a lot of players complaining about the weirdness of the situation.
And to be clear, it is not that I necessarily care about uninformed players not reading messages or crystal descriptions or whatever and then complaining. I do care that those complaints would add a big burden to customer support, flood social media, and create all kinds of weird problems on the forums and discord. One of the things those of us among the more informed and engaged players have to deal with is we often have to make sacrifices to accommodate the more oblivious members of the playerbase, because we're the only ones that can. We can't ask them to sacrifice for us, because obviously we can't ask the oblivious for anything.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
Yes, it might be a little harder to program to make up a special crystal. But, if they want to go the quick and easy route, then they can just as easily give the rest of us the same benefit, and let anyone who opens crystals this week get our 1:1 duplicates in the mail next week. What's the reasoning not to? That it will make our accounts too strong? Well, a portion of players were just allowed to make their accounts stronger, and get an advantage over the rest of us. That's not how a neutral referee manages a game. The only reason one player would ever get bonus points from a referee is if the opposing player actually broke a rule of the game, which we didn't do.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
The only way a 1:1 solution is actually somewhat “fair”, is if this new crystal with the complete pool didn’t offer dupe benefits (sig levels and titan shards) for any of the already-previously-basic champs. Since people already received those rewards. It gives them the chance to get the newly added champs that weren’t there, but without the double dipping of excess rewards.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
I have said multiple times, that ship sailed when they didn’t stop it immediately. So I was not in favor of that.
what makes far more sense are the ideas of so many selectors of new champs for the number of crystals opened. Or 1:1 crystals that contained battlechips and iso and the same % to pull a new champ. These were just a few of the ideas passed around here that were viable, workable and equitable. But they require one thing Kabam won’t do: dedicate time and effort to get it done. So for their mistake they would rather have rhe community explode than they themselves take responsibility for their mistake… with them taking all the inconvenience.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
Better to disproportionately favor the whales than to disproportionately favor all summoners who got lucky and throw the ones who didnt in the bin. At least whales are usually always favored
Re: Shame on you Kabam
They could make it a choice. Those effected by the bug who want to keep their results (maybe the pulled the long awaited Serpent or something like that) can just keep going like nothing happened.
Those who want the rollback and crystal compensation can open a ticket. Kabam would erase their openings and reset their crystals.
It's more work, sure. It's only natural when you need to compensate an issue. Happens in every work field
Re: Shame on you Kabam
I dunno why some people are defending the solution or acting like its a perfectly normal issue. They have been updating crystals for 10 years, the last 2 updates 1 on Titan and 1 in basic were a mess. This is lack of care and human error not a bug.
