Re: CAN WE JUST GET THE OLD FORMAT OF EQ BACK!
As much as I was dogging on the scaling rewards and the difficulty initially, I actually prefer this over the old one. I never played old EQ at all because it was a boring mess that felt like a slog, this one I somewhat actually enjoy and find relatively fun.
Re: CAN WE JUST GET THE OLD FORMAT OF EQ BACK!
I like the new format. I don’t know if I’d consider myself an end game player but I do have a pretty stacked roster or 7R3&4s. I only have 3 real complaints about it. Firstly is that you have to do classic to unlock elder. Secondly is the super outdated nodes. I didn’t expect them to changed when the reissued the quest but I did expect them to change sometime within at least the last 3 years. Third is that players should be allowed to tune it down if they desire. It might take them a bit to sort out that last one since they lock your prestige when you start. This was definitely a change they needed to make and I’m not mad at all that they were actively trying to come up with a long term fix for the problem with EQ. They missed the target but that doesn’t mean they’re not trying to get it right
Re: Game ending crisis averted.
It was not a game ending crisis. For one pulling the refills out of the 4 hour crystals would have made them better as we’d have gotten a better chance at revives or higher tier health potions when we opened them. The game also provides you with more than enough units to pick up a refill here and there when you need one. What are you spending your units on that would make you have to pay to get refills? Getting rid of elder marks also was a good thing. They were a stupid attempt to monetize battlegrounds when it came out and failed instantly. They should have been removed years ago and not removing them led to players gaming the system by staying in the VT forfeiting matches with energy then using elder marks to win against weaker players to game the AQ and solo BG events. Replacing them as rewards in the VT with energy refills and lowering the energy cost of matches would have been a great fix
Re: This is easier?
If you still had to pop multiple revives then that's actually a skill issue, I know that isn't what most want to hear but come on. The people who get 500k-600k hps already have multiple r4s r3s and r2s, if you're struggling with a ROL sized hp then you need to work on how you actually play the game because that's no longer a difficulty issue.
Re: This is easier?
The mode is far better now. It is not difficult at all. I’m playing at 28k prestige, difficulty 10 and easily able to take fights with r1 champions. I don’t think elder was necessarily meant for everyone. It’s something to work towards by building your rosters.
Re: This is easier?
For me, it's much, MUCH easier than before. Just finished 2.1 now (the one with Jessica Jones as boss) without spending any revives or potions. In the older difficulty, I had to spend revives on Gwenpool
But I agree the ideal scenario would be different difficulties to choose from, with different rewards
Re: This is easier?
it is very much better than before. The bigger health pools allow for more fun fights ramping further damage. This is exactly the brainless fun we want. Now rewards, the first eq version they gave us with triple boss fights sucked it wasn’t as fun and less rewarding .. ud get maybe half a titan and 1/15th of a t7b. Now after ranking 2 champs from last eq to this reset today. Under 30k pi, am getting more than 1 full free titan and a t7 b full free a month… if ur having trouble play more rank up proper counters. Cus this eq version is the best iv ever seen worth of fun and rewarding
Re: This is easier?
I moved up a tier (prior to the reset and the adjustment of tiers) and the attack values are still cut by like 30-40% and the health pools are cut by around 25-30% as well. It is much, much better than it was. There should still be some challenge to it, just not anywhere near the degree that we had to deal with at launch. This is quite a bit easier, and also significantly faster. But that doesn't mean there won't still be players that use resources to get through the content.
Re: Zola comp
Zola is an excellent defender. He’s even underrated because many forget that you can’t reduce his ability accuracy or power rate. That means you can’t remove problematic nodes like that recent bgs where they get evade and unstoppable after their specials. That means you can’t use neutralise for example to get rid of it so tigra is useless against him. Also you can’t easily knull Zola because you can’t reduce his combat power rate. Easily the best tech defender
Re: CAN WE JUST GET THE OLD FORMAT OF EQ BACK!
I am speaking for myself and any end game player who has been waiting for approximately 5 years for EQ to be relevant…
You're not an end game player, and haven't experienced having a game mode consistently being outdated for years.. that's fine too, but don't wish for a broken system to be reverted to just because you didn't like the first attempts on the new one..
The concept of adaptive EQ is great.. I keep repeating that the concept is good.. not the initial execution, but literally no one reads that part.. and just says "Change it back!" I say.. neither.. don't change it back, but continue to improve the new system to make nearly every progression level happy.. that's what they are actually trying to do, but missed the mark by a lot of on the first try.. I'm simply saying, take it back to the bench and keep working on it (and yes, include some options for lower difficulty)
The reason adaptive difficulty is needed is that over time.. you'd have like 17 different difficulties and it would make the game even more bloated.. they're trying to streamline, which imo, is what this game needs
