Let me know your exact rotation that makes Solvarch seem decent in your eyes and i’ll actually go and test it out and let you know if it changes my mind or not. So just SP1 and SP3?

Go watch the video I posted? It has multiple rotations that give him decent enough damage to deal with the current problematic meta defenders. He literally takes all current meta relevant mutants, Zola, Spider Woman and Bullseye in under a minute what else do you want? You keep glazing Patriot every single day but this is trash? Patriot is literally ass for anyone that isn't Photon.

Anyways, you build to three bars and while at 100 core charges you throw sp1 to get 5 energize then do mm mlllm while they're stunned and sp3 immediately. If a r1 is getting 240k damage in one rotation then a r3 should be close to ko WS with one, if he doesn't you're doing something wrong and just to prove that I will r3 mine before Bastion so you can finally stop complaining and spreading misinformation.

Used this exact rotation I mentioned on a non energy non mutant matchup and the sp3 was 138k in total for a r1 Solvarch:



Total damage was 235k, how is 235k damage for a r1 bad? Sure he isn't the fastest I won't argue that, but he can easily punch same rank defenders including non mutant non energy ones like Bullseye in roughly 50-55 secs. Doesn't mean he's insane but he's not trash at all, or mid especially when you think someone like Patriot is top tier lol.

Tried special damage stat focus previously and the total sp3 damage was 138k, you think it'd be better than armor penetration but I tried it with armor penetration right now and the sp3 damage went from 138k to 151k



So it seems armor penetration is definitely the way to go with him, again this is r1 Solvarch. I'll be taking him to r4 after Crucible to see what he can really do.

Not sure about how it works but could it be that the stat focus only increases the flat sp3 damage without considering the passive attack rating increase during it? Cause I remember testing Havok in RoL and despite the class advantage against Winter Soldier he would still get a similar sp3 damage against Captain Marvel. I assume that it has to do with how prowess works with an attack rating increase, that's also why I almost never find it optimal as a stat focus. Appreciate the testing, have an insightful from me!

His basic damage is terrible. Every other champ that doesn't crit has something to make a difference there.

I tried Solvarch r3 in the common bad matchup of Winter Soldier and compared him against Guardian r3, G2099 r1, FalCap r1, Jack r4, and Prowler r1.

I didn't have all year, so I just compared Mediums.

Solv - 1854
Jack - 2633
Guardian - 1960
G2099 - 1412 at no combo
Prowler - 1183

The others all do something useful to make up for not critting, and Solvarch has his weak Coldsnap. I can get a semi-cooperative Winter Soldier down in less than 90 seconds with r3 Solvarch doing Parry, MM to 3 "bars", GG striker, SP1, SP3. Cleanup. I'm sure there's something optimal after the SP3, but I don't know what it is, so the Cleanup could be optimized to take off more time. Not super impressive, but it is a terrible matchup.

The worst is that they won't buff him even after he goes to the base pool,even if they annouce it will take months to happen

It was just give Shocker Mechanic and make the crit rating boost your attack rating ,there would still be some problems but damage wise this could have helped and kept consistency between Non crit techs

Maybe we can hide our vile comments if we act like nothing happened and move on to the next page? Like the good and bad guy settles their differences and work together to save the world? I'm down!

Now back to the topic, I'm personally quite confused as well with the can't crit ability of techs getting more common with something else in place to compensate for the damage loss. Most techs of that sort either inflicted a DoT instead or had something unique like Shocker armor penetration increase. Not sure why but I think Maker doesn't have anything to replace the crits either, nor does Solvarch. The ability can be beneficial by itself against crit punishing champions but just leads to lack of damage in every other scenario. Not sure what the thought process behind that is, champions like Guillotine99 and Prowler get through stuff that punish crits perfectly fine while maintaining their intended damage. Just weird that the latest releases don't have a replacement for some reason. Feels like something missing for sure.

The Maker gets a pass because of the instant Plasmas on his heavy and his Plasma mine, and both of those damages scale with his crit damage multiplier, and he can also power them up with his own Instants Siphon pre-fight.

I see. Honestly I believe that Crossbones has one of the most ideal crit replacements in the game since he gets furies with critical hits and those furies get their potency increased with critical damage rating. I think Prowler also has a similar thing going for him where his crits are rupture passives and their damage also scales with critical damage rating. That's more so my point here, I prefer when champions that can't land critical hits get the perks of precisions and cruelties just as well as anyone. I'm fine if not both are compensated simultaneously but it doesn't make much sense when a champion benefits from neither of these stats like Solvarch. And it gets even funnier for him to have some decent critical rating and critical damage rating stats when he benefits from none.
