Y’all wild for these takes. My 7* r2 w/ a 4* BP relic is blasting through RoL health pools in 40 seconds, no class advantage, hitting consistent medium crits at 22-45k damage (high end is with white tiger synergy).

Where are you gonna use him in the game outside of fighting Photon? Im not attacking you. Im genuinely curious. I have him also btw.

It’s a fair question, no worries. And I agree that he’s light on utility, I think if he had access to an evade counter in his kit in the same way he has his vigilance, that would be enough to move him from good to great (would become a very solid Spider-Woman counter, for example).

As it stands, he kinda reminds me of Cap IW: easy rotation, tremendous damage output, extremely tanky, little bit of utility. His vigilance is genuinely useful in fights where Miss/Falter is the primary threat, and his ability to rapidly gain combo is actually good in certain niche matchups/nodes (there’s a ticking soul bomb node on the war map that he’s solid for), but otherwise he doesn’t have a ton of specific uses. I will say that anytime you just need to nuke, he’ll be extremely capable of that and is very fun to play.

I respect that. But I can't bring myself to ranking him up. Not at least right now. The lack of utility unique to the skill class is puzzling to me. Hes a good damage dealer but the game asks for so much more especially in the most relevant competitive game modes.

He's another of the game's over 100 mid-tier champions.
There are at least two every month. I think we may never again see a champion who's useful in every scenario. The focus has increasingly been on champions for extremely specific scenarios or focused on specific defenders.
He's more of a counter to Onslaught and mutants in general. I'd say he was specifically designed for Captain Britain and her Neuroshocks.
He'll be a reasonable defender; it seems the cosmic ones handle him without any major issues.
Unfortunately, all the versatile champions have fallen victim to Rarity Lock: Kate Bishop, Hulkling, Hercules, Magik, Quake, Ghost, Valkyrie, Scorpion, Absorbing Man...
There's no point in expecting anything like this from new champions. Not every champion needs to be versatile or extremely good on offense. But I got the feeling his rotation is very slow. I didn't feel like using him at all.

What I don't understand they keep dropping mid attackers but op defenders with a huge list to their abilities. It feels unbalanced.

That wasn't your question though. There are skilled players with big rosters and there are unskilled players with big rosters. They may have both spent a bunch of money, but that doesn't mean they are both skilled.
Your inability to overcome a roster difference means either you're not skilled enough to beat bigger rosters or you're facing players that have both big accounts and some skill.
Yes, bigger rosters have an advantage in BGs, but you can't always attribute a loss to someone's spending, because sometimes those big accounts are paid for by players that can't fight for anything.
Either way, people don't spend to be good, and many spend to overcome the fact that they are not good.
