This is without a doubt fact, at least how I’ve seen it lately. I’m a big spender, but it’s starting to get to the point that even if I whale out and play in T1 AWs and Map 8 AQ, I’m still starting to fall behind because I don’t no-life BGs.

Top ranks of that are getting a crazy amount of radiance to fund R4s, and when Magik gets released, unless her pieces are tied to different game mode currencies, that will be a problem for a lot of people.

Either they’ll need to release bigger chunks of radiance, or provide different means to acquire it.

Spenders get a huge advantage as it is, but now it’s amplified by: not only do you have to spend on all these events, but you also have to devote ridiculous time to this game in order to stay at the tip top of relevance.

Not only do you need to drop $1000+ on the next hot event, but you also need to finish C4/C5 or good luck, you’ll eventually be a fading thought.

As someone who dropped $500 for Red Guardian and Dark Phoenix because I have the money to actually be spending like that (since you're implying these complaints only come from people who can't afford spending on this game or don't want to), the prices and cutoffs lately have been stupidly high, you're just trying to stir the pot it seems.

The letters are all the letters of the next 5 eq titles put in alphabetical order. Any missing letters are simply because they aren't in the titles

Sure but this wasn't of this magnitude until recently. Not every sale had exclusive meta defining champions you won't be able to get for at least 1-2 years afterwards. People used to accelerate the progression by spending before, now they're just creating gaps that can't be filled in any way. They don't sell champions like Civil Warrior anymore, all those sales revolve around the best of the best.

Of course! The rest were just good, not major deciding factors! Red Guardian, Human Torch, Tigra, Nick Fury, Fantman are all just good champions. Not like other than Fantman they are all auto-include in every deck. Not like Human Torch is getting 51k off of maxed out Serpents this meta. Not like CGR, Hulkling, Doom, Kate, Scorpion will be paywalled as well. Surely they will put them in titan or something attainable for anyone. Even if they don't, they are not game-changing champions anyway right?

You can't justify all this nonsense by claiming you just have a "different mindset". You already know my thoughts so I won't repeat them, shameless behaviour as always 👍

Thanks for the response—I don’t think anyone who’s held a job for a day thinks there’s a magical fix, or that you and Dave are responsible for the coding, or that running a business is easy.

There will always be bugs and issues. But to me what feels like it’s missing is a sense of progress. Last update was a mess, problems have cropped up again this update, and old issues remain.

I’m sure things are being worked on, but it often doesn’t seem like it to the community.

The team’s communication strategy appears fragmented and uncoordinated (ex: one guy says relief being looked at, another implies maybe not, time goes on, more issues arise).

Simple things which might in isolation not seem like much (ex: forums being broken for consecutive game cycles) when combined with in-game issues foster a sense of overall dysfunction.

Against that backdrop, I don’t think it should be hard to see how tone deaf a steady drumbeat of spendy offers might seem. Yes, I realize they’ve been planned months in advance, and yes, I know the game has to make money, but the asks from the game just keep coming whereas the asks from the community can feel ignored. That’s not a place anyone wants MCoC to be.

One final note: I didn’t waste 10 minutes of my time trying to navigate the forums (which kept sending me to top of page instead of the draft I was writing) because I’m cynical or root for the game to fail.

I did it because when I give the game my precious money and precious time, I expect it to work reliably and professionally. I know that’s the team’s goal as well, but lately the game simply hasn’t performed that way for me (and I suspect others).
