Several folks have asked whether the changes to forums signal a desire to abandon or marginalize it as a communications channel.

@KabamPinwheel specifically responded that this wasn’t the case, but if the account above is accurate, his coworkers may think differently.

OP suggests the team prefers channels that allow them to tamp certain messaging. Since I’m not on Discord, I don’t know if this is the case. All I can speak to is that I think the experience here mirrors what I’m seeing in game lately, and OP’s post may help explain why.

To clarify my position as my previous post wasn’t clear - I like the idea of adaptive EQ. It’s just the execution I think they failed on.

Keep elder and just tweak the lower level rewards. Also leave an easy level for people that don’t want to hit end game content. Classic is scaled way too high it’s ridiculous.

Just to share information and "insight" from a guardian and a discord mod. Wanted to let people know since the complaint that forums were neglected has been ongoing for a while. Felt like this could answer some questions in mind. You might as well ignore it if it bothers you, I don't feel like fighting anyone anymore.

Just gave a simple example, not that it impacted me tremendously as I already knew the livestream date. My concern is with how unprofessional that is. Also they told that discord wouldn't render forums useless and they wouldn't "steal" attention from here. Don't think its easy to say that they kept their word.

Been that way for a while. At least Jax and Miike could take it and dish it out, as could some of their predecessors.

I don't want to be an excessively negative commenter so I've largely refrained commenting on this. I'm usually the one joking around, but let me be serious for a second since we're on the topic and they don't seem to care about it anyway:

I feel like the forum redesign perfectly sums up the new direction Kabam are taking with this game, and its the reason why many, including me, feel alienated by recent decisions and feel disconnected from the community of days past. The new forum is like a unilateral announcement page (if they even announce it here), it allows no reactions to new Kabam announcements, and voicing opinions will be done through our own discussions, which quickly get drowned out by other discussions.

Not a personal dig, but Mike and Dork haven't been convincing and in tune with the general community at large. Mike does seem to communicate more with the ccp and other content creators (as a former content creator himself, I guess that tracks). But all I've seen from him here is the occasional snark and the rare explanation/ addressing issues.

Content creators seem to be getting more benefits: They get access to a more direct line of communication to Kabam, the new CCP code revenue, general youtube revenue, the beta testing grounds map for practicing, access to new champs and rank ups, the new prestige system which rewards higher spenders, more sales, and the list goes on.

It's looking like Kabam know the game isn't attracting and retaining as many newer players, so they've pivoted to trying to please and milk the remaining contingent of content creators and whales that make them the most money. From a business point of view, it might be the best direction for them. But as a player not part of that circle, I am getting brushed off. If it were not for the friends I have in-game who I talk to everyday and play with, I'd have quit already.

Not sure which version is the right one here, but an easy way to remedy it and avoid confusion is to post the correct(ed) version across all platforms.

Forums is now the red-headed stepchild for the comms team.

Being completely honest, I don’t really care about it—although I agree with your premise.

The past three months suggest there’s no one at the wheel. Remedies generally should be targeted and timely, but even this basic concept appears foreign.

I'm asking simple questions to no replies, was on discord asking Rex he ignored my reply and replied to somebody who replied to my question but the person who replied still didn't answer and when I asked again the same person answer again and didn't understand the question and when I broke it down even more all I got was "No probably not"

The Question was "People who got suspended from this EQ situation, would their account have a suspended mark on it in their in game file or would it be {suspended mark} removed right after everything is rectified".

The milestone rewards especially the first two are simply ridiculous.

Milestone 1 - Tier 4 Basic ISO-8 x 7, 118,000 gold and bonus gold of 1,000
Milestone 2 - Tier 4 Basic ISO-8 x 19 and 98,500 gold.

As a paragon player Tier 4 ISO is not as helpful in leveling up 6* and 7* champions. Please Kabam seriously revaluate this and improve or please give us the old style back.
