Re: Shame on you Kabam
LOL You know the funny thing about that, Mags? That would’ve happened for one of the few times I was livid about something, in game, enough to consider quitting. My memory might not line up totally correctly, but it might have been around the time that Act 6 was locked to 4-stars or they announced that the 5-star Featured was progression-based.
See, some people might think that this response derails the thread, but it actually doesn’t.
Think about it for a second, and what we’re talking about in this thread: Arbitrary decisions ALWAYS affect players more than the simple premise behind the arbitrary decision.
For instance: When Kabam locked Act 6 to 4-stars, the IDEA made sense. Hit pools were too small, and OP synergies aren’t what the game was designed to be in spirit. Made sense.
But what happened in reality is that it gave people with larger/better rosters an advantage in advancing through the content, even though someone with a smaller roster had done nothing wrong prior to that arbitrary decision.
See what I am getting at?
Awarding 1-to-1 compensation SOUNDS like it makes sense. But when you peel back a few layers, it’s actually an arbitrary decision that will give some players an advantage over other players who have done nothing wrong.
That shouldn’t happen.
Kabam has said recently that one of the things they are trying to hold as a value statement is “Do you want it done quickly or do you want it done right.”
1-to-1 compensation is quick.
It’s not right.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
I am so down with this type of compensation that I do not know if I want to play this game in the future. I do not stop now, but I've been thinking about it for a while. This is one more punch, one more nail in the coffin of this game for me. I am so desperate that I am working so hard to improve my prestige, counting sig stones and planning rank ups. And then people who opened tens of 7* crystals and who got hundreds of free sig levels, will get doubled amount and will increase their prestige even higher.
So dumb solution for compensation. So unfair for prestige growing and moving some people above other literally for free.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
already loathing banquet. I am not one who can open crystals right when they go live… so I am guaranteed to be miss out on the banquet crystal bug compensation. I guess those in that group are just permanent losers
Re: Shame on you Kabam
Wow so if I was in a diff timezone and was sleeping, I lost out on double my crystals?!
While others could be pulling serpent, onslaught and more, and still have a chance at okoye, sinister, etc, just cos they were on time!?
Re: Shame on you Kabam
They just nuked any hype, value, and potential spending from a large amount of players going into their biggest event of the year. I dount it'll be much of a celebration
Re: Shame on you Kabam
Worst decision ever by Kabam…
If you weren't online in the 45 affected minutes and/or made the decision to actually wait for a fix you essentially just lost out on the easiest chance ever to double 10-50x 7 Star Crystals…
Re: Shame on you Kabam
The fairest thing to do is give 1:1 crystals to those affected, and 1:1 of the old crystals to those that open in the first 24 hours.
Re: How are you going to fix the most recent mess up with the 7* basic
Then they should implement testing, which they still dont do.
Re: Extended compensation
worse thing is people were posting comments in alliance chats about crystals been wrong so some of us held on to ours awaiting the fix, if I had known we were returning to a 1:1 comp package ( which I got the impression they would never do again post Zola) I would have opened them as soon as possible. So the lesson here is, find out there’s a problem, give Kabam time to fix it, loose out for waiting.
Re: Extended compensation
the worst thing is that some of us saw comments posted that the crystal did not contain all the champs and that Kabam were working on a fix so we held off opening until the fix went live and screwed ourselves as a result. If we had known the comp would be 1 to 1 on crystals we would have all dived in and opened our stash. Trouble is last time around they declared they don’t want to do the 1 to 1 fix so it was a choice of hold or jump for the chance the comp might be decent. Bit naff really.
