Re: The Problem with The Compensation
this is the correct mindset, and if Kabam owned their mistake, they would put in the effort to get it done. There is no reason not to except they are lazy….and this method can’t be refuted. The apologists never argue against this solution though - only straw men about how crystals can’t be clawed back now (duh)
Re: A Clear Perspective on the Compensation
@ahmynuts - What other context do you feel is pertinent?
A Clear Perspective on the Compensation
Yes, I still gained value from those crystals, but the targeted reason for saving them was blocked. Kabam cannot roll back individual pulls, titan shards, sig levels, or roster changes without creating bigger problems, so the only workable fix was to add compensation on top.
That naturally puts early openers ahead. But it is important to understand this:
Players who waited are not behind. They are exactly where they would have been if the bug never happened.
They opened from the correct pool with the correct odds. Nothing was taken from them. The frustration some people feel is a normal emotional response, but it is not based on an actual disadvantage.
Why Kabam’s Choice Makes Sense:
Kabam had two options, and neither was perfect. Truly stuck between a rock and a hard place.
If they chose not to compensate early openers:
1. It would punish players who trusted the crystal update
2. It would teach everyone to avoid opening anything when updates go live
3. It would reinforce distrust in the game
If they compensated:
Early openers would end up ahead
But the message becomes:
If you act in good faith and something goes wrong, Kabam will make it right.
For a live service game, that is the healthier outcome. Trust needs to continue to be built.
The Bottom Line
1. Early openers were denied access to the new champions.
2. Kabam cannot reverse or selectively remove what was already pulled.
3. Adding compensation was the only viable fix.
4. Players who waited are in the same position they would have been in a bug-free world.
5. This decision supports long-term trust in the game and in future updates.
Given the choices available, Kabam chose the option that protects trust, stabilizes future crystal updates, and corrects the actual issue that occurred.
Re: Next Banquet Champion
the mutant and cosmic champs aren’t confirmed yet. The trophy champ will be the reworked Punisher
Re: Heartfelt question about deadpool quest..
Offcourse lol what you expecting full t7b ?
1260 T7B shards and 9k T4A shards
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
Like I said its not a first time issue, they should have a better contingency plan than comb manually thru accounts. We are talking about a 10 year old company, not an indie gaming company out of a garage.
Its not groundbreaking for a regular player, it is ground breaking for people who invest money and time in getting every sig stone possible and available to improve their accounts due to this BS top 30 prestige change, it is a big issue for people spending money like the odins during CM to get an AG and use it on a champ they were never able to dup.
Sure some people are fine with a Dup 7* at sig 1... That is not the case for everyone.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
It's human error regardless, and its the 2nd time it happened in 2 crystal updates.
Saying we don't know this and that is a lot easier to say than they should know this and that. They have been updating crystals for 10 years, they should know better.
And the whole point is that when mistakes like this happen they should have a contingency plan to reverse it by now.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
It affects everybody because it has such a distorting affect on the power balance between players. If it was wholly PvE then you’d be right, but PvP is a core part of the game so you’re wrong.
