so, this one time, it’s awesome. call-back to an insane man doing an insane thing. perfect patch to a champ a lot of folk wanted to love (for fun, not competition). easy enough SQ element for what you’re getting (ORed fight notwithstanding). THISCAN DRIVE ENGAGEMENT. in moderation.

this is not a patch for reworks, and not a cash grab. if they treat it as such, they’re repoisoning an already toxic well.

if they do this twice a year, quarterly, something infrequent but recurrent, this would be a hell of a PR win. let us vote on the next poor schleb to get this treatment (and we ALL want to love a few of the champs we never use), or make it seasonal/ holiday themed, use it as a rando story event (cosmic egg forge WTF??? sure!).

VtD is still a trash defender. the relic takes him from meme tier attacker outside of nick questing roles, to useful. not must have, not meta distorting, but legit I can and may actually WANT TO use him, effectively. the design is really right where the fan base wanted it.

this one time, huge win, and I actually thank and applaud Kabam for this. just, PLEASE, think about how you want to revisit this.

Swedeah used to post some really impressive videos of The Champion, if you're interested.

They put in the time and resources to essentially buff him, but instead of outright buffing him, they tied it all to a relic. Not only do you now have to get that relic for the buff to "come into effect", you also don't have any choice when it comes to relics.

It's neat that he got buffed, but I don't really see any upside to it being tied to a specific relic instead of just being added to his base kit. We now have a choice of whether VtD is bad or not, instead of just having him be innately good and having a choice of how to enhance him further with a relic of our choice.

I wish they could make trophy champions like Thanos and Kang somewhat useful at least through this way.

Red Hulk relic. Make it so it increases his heat charges by either 3 or 5.

Captain America - and his Relic should be a shield - When players activate the Striker a Shield fly out, bounce around the screen to hit the Def

Spiderman OG - His relic should either be a spider or Symbiote

I am GROOOOT - Rooket would be his Striker.

Actually think about it Groot would be the perfect candidate, we (Kabam and the community) can have our cake and eat it. Groot still stay as a meme champ (without the Relic), while at the same time OP woth the relic 🤩
