Re: Webstore Market Loyalty
Equating an emote or incursions crystal to first class airfare…You give a free sticker for $200 instead of nearly $2,000. It's not the quality of the freebie, it's the absurdity of the valuation of those freebies.Overall, this loyalty thing is useless, dumb, and wasted the time of whoever put it together, but it doesn't fit in with monetization conversation. Is it? Suppose you wanted to make the webstore more attractive to the majority of players who currently use the in-app purchase mechanism, but you didn't want to add too much bonus stuff or units or whatever that would have a significant impact on the game economy. How would you do that?
And maybe you also add to your "loyalty" system a pathway for players that don't spend but are loyal to get these things too. They really can't let players that login every day for 86 week get a free emote?
I get what they were after, it just lacks all common sense.
And before we go down that path, I am a moderate spender (sigil, monthly units, tracks, occasional offers), so this isn't a FTP crying about PTP advantages (and these aren't advantages anyway).
More like a free soft drink or extra cracker.

Insane Luck

I was just nonchalantly opening up some of these new valiant crystals that come with the side quest, and all of a sudden quicksilver rolls in on the reel. I’m still kinda shocked. Some of the best luck I’ve had in a minute

Re: Can some people just start in Gladiator Circuit?
So we can blame you for all these useless deals and money grab content. Good to know somebody like you has the ear of kabaam, lol. You should have better suggestions. You laugh, but if I could I would gladly take credit for the monetization system for MCOC. I can't, but if you want to blame me for designing the monetization of a free to play game that:
a) does not paywall progression, and has skilled players capable of speedrunning to the top progression title in less than a week without spending or even grinding the game significantly
b) allows free to play players to grind thousands of dollars worth of premium in-game currency a year without the entire game economy falling apart
c) convinces a small minority of spenders to spend huge amounts of money for things knowing I will be giving almost all of them away to players in a relatively short period of time
d) which allows the vast majority of players to play completely for free
e) while allowing those free to play players to access almost all the content, almost all the rewards, and even be competitive in all competitive game modes
By all means, please do. I would put it on my resume if I thought I could get away with it.
You see useless deals. I see deals that subsidize the vast majority of the playerbase to be able to play the game without having to spend. Those deals are not useless. They exist for the few spenders that spend, and also for the hundreds of thousands of players who play the game without spending. I would say that's highly useful.
MCOC is not a perfect game. There's a lot of things I would not want to take credit/blame for. But blaming me for the monetization of the game is like blaming me for sunshine. You're trying to create an insult out of something that everyone needs, everyone benefits from, and if you personally don't like it, wear a hat.

Re: 4th of July
I think some of the people who complain the mosts are the quickest to do a bunch lf micro buys.
Re: When is 7 star arena coming?
There are no plans to introduce 7-star arenas. I won't say "never", because you never know, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
That doesn't however mean there won't be other systems for sourcing new champions. Next month for instance we are experimenting with our first ever Side Quest that will have a competitive element where the top prize is the new 7-star champion. We have also been discussing other options to experiment with, though these are not imminent. Right now it's just an experiment.

Re: So is WOF getting updated or nah?
The game is in a COMPLETELY different spot than it was 7 years ago when those blatantly incorrect comments were made about AW & AQ.Check my acct and spend history. I am your audience. Your response dodged around major points here. If you are going to make ‘hard’ content that challenges both roster and skill set do so in a fashion that 1. Rewarding enough today as it will be in at least 6 months from now (aka guaranteed 4th deals make the rewards from WOF look even more obsolete). 2. Allow skilled players with small rosters attempt the content at there own peril with lower rarities.I don’t know how you can respond to a comment saying that we look for feedback from all players in all sorts of places, and say it’s insulting we only gather feedback from a “select group of people.”We don't ignore any feedback; we read everything said on all Social channels. This is incredibly insulting.
Wheel of Fate has been out for less than 1 week. At this time, there are no plans to update Wheel of Fate.
There are going to be times when certain content isn't widely loved by the entire Community.
It has been received very well from the group of players that I expected to enjoy it.
Niche content for a select group of players is absurd when you have a player base as wide as Kabam does.
I’m saying this as a player that did that horrific content 100%, simply because I had resources burning. That whole experience was trash, the rewards for it sucked. Complete miss by the team and their response was even more off. They are virtually saying, we look at stats and gather feedback from a select group of players, outside of that everyone can pound sand.
Great customer service. Smh
There are players who enjoy restrictive, difficult, and painful content that challenges both their roster width and their skill set.
That may not be the majority of the members of the forums, but those players exist - and occasionally, content needs to be designed in that style for them as well. This content is always optional, and not put into the Story mode, or any other piece of content that will make or break a player’s progression if they ignore it.
As far as your remark about a select group of players you brought that on yourself by saying ‘it’s been well received by the group of players I expected to enjoy it’. In saying that you’ve more or less publicly said we’ve built this content for a select consumer base not the entire community. This would have less lashback if numbers 1 & 2 above were honored. Also I’d like to add that if you don’t think the whole player base doesn’t want to attempt new content you are very out of touch. It’s like saying AW / AQ wasn’t meant to be fully explored by everyone- which was an argument kabam made way back when after launching team based content at a difficultly that was out of touch at the time.
Again I’ve done the content 100%. It wasn’t worth the time or effort even in the slightest degree.
If you can’t see the flaws in your argument your misguided and have no business addressing a public forum.
Let me address your two points.
1 - We can’t keep pushing the boundaries of rewards with each piece of content we roll out. Endgame content used to be released very sparingly. In today’s day, we try to release different pieces of content for all different groups of the playerbase much more frequently.
2 - One of the main design philosophies of WOF was to stretch your 7 Star Roster. You may not like that design, that is 100000% okay and completely understandable - but allowing lower rarities in the quest would go against the design of the quest.
Not one time did I say the whole Community does not want to attempt all new content. I encourage every single player to try everything we release! Lots of time goes into our content, and I want everyone to give it their best.
I said that not every piece of content is going to be universally received well - but that doesn’t mean that content doesn’t have its place in the Contest.
Wheel of Fate didn’t stop the production of Act 9, or PvP updates, or any other feature in the game.
