Re: VALIANT EVENT QUEST - CHECK IN!
New valiant eq have some really really good rewards
But in terms of gameplay I'm disappointed.
First, It felt like chore and boring. Like 15 fights in row where you have to change champ without having option to keep same champ. This personally felt really like low blow to champs who are cross fight ramp up monsters like Morning star, Cull (yes I still use him cuz he's fun)etc.
Second:It's straight up copy paste of TB eq with some extra hp. Like same old coffe but in new mug. C'mon atleast throw some new nodes to us. It felt like Paragon difficult especially after seeing title which reflected Paragon difficulty in description 😂😂. Now only boss fights kind of felt that it matches the valiant aspect.
Third:Due to point no 1, relic doesn't makes sense in such eq. Because they serve less purpose when you have to fight 15 different champs with 15 different champs with class restrictions. No matter how deep account is, not every one will go and re-equip all relics to maximize for all 15 fights or do we even have enough for same class ??? Arguments can be made but on major part it's just another shortcoming rather than benefit.
For different type of valiants, this eq is different. I am average/above average skilled player. I liked Necro. I liked Epoch. I liked Crucible. I have explored all these 3.Usually if I have negative thoughts regarding content, I first test it after release then speak. This Eq imo doesn't excited me at all. Even during the announcement I had some doubts regarding format and all but here I am.
I don't want to be rude but at same time I can't sugercoat my words as well. I know game team is putting in lot of efforts and don't want to disrespect their hardwork. But at same time it doesn't cut out how it was done. I am happy it was recognised that valiant players need fun and some challenging content monthly basis. So expectations regarding gameplay was high. But this felt like totally geared towards Paragons not the valiants. Just increase in hp pool don't reflect the gap being closed for the players.
I have been watching you guys from long time tho Dave was absent in between. Dave and KM, please think it as fellow mcoc player. I know you do have certain obligation as employees as well but I find hard to believe you didn't see that coming especially my 2 point. I hope during this trial and error phase, things will change for future.
Sorry for long write up.
Summary: Rewards are good but gameplay and format doesn't align with valiant aspects imo.
Re: The change to the monthly quest is really annoying
The fights are absurdley long. ~800.000 health while I am in one of the lower Valiant prestige levels? How much health do the others face?!
Re: The change to the monthly quest is really annoying
This is a terrible change.. no way in hell I’m burning all those resources for laughable rewards. As a veteran player who spends more than I should on this game, this one may actually be the thing that stops my spending and significantly reduces my time on the game. If this is the direction it’s going in, I’ll be headed the other way. The classic difficulty wasn’t hard but the Elder is nothing more than a resource suck. Like someone above, I got to the to end of path two, didn’t read the nodes and didn’t bring a poison immune. It’s an impossible task without one, so I wasted a ton of health pots and several revives. Shame on me for not reading and shame on Kabam for making such decidedly un-player friendly content. I will vigorously defend their right as a business to make a profit. I will also vigorously defend - and use - my ability as a consumer to spend elsewhere. You finally did it Kabam. You pushed me out.
Re: What’s your new hobby going to be?
i have enough lego set’s to build having a great time this autumn. The new harry potter hogsmeade set looks fun to build
Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
Excellent post OP. Too bad it falls on deaf ears on a dead forum. Kabam has lost the concept that great content that is fun to complete with solid rewards results in more people opening their wallet. Goals and objectives that are attainable and enjoyable creates more commitment from a wider player base willing to spend on the game.
Instead, EQ like the constant barrage of sales, prestige changes, etc. only believes people open their wallet because if they don’t, they will have no reason to continue to play the game in any enjoyable fashion. It’s “pay up to get meaningful rewards or get lost. We don’t care.” This direction, that best I can tell started after the 10 year anniversary, shows no signs of stopping. And yes, my comment is completely based on how $$$ is flowing because that’s all this game is about anymore.
Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
I'm just fighting Mangog with a 6* Torch and you take more than 10% block damage blocking his SP2.
For this concept you're forced to use 6* champs, you don't heal between fights, I don't think monthly EQ should be spam potions content.
Fights are way to punishing.
Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
I honestly don’t know why they’re doing this. It feels like Kabam doesn’t really understand what the community actually needs. What’s crazy is they have access to some of the best content creators out there—people who not only play competitively but also actively engage with the community on YouTube. Either those creators aren’t passing feedback on, or the dev team/management is just ignoring it. And if that’s the case, then I doubt they’ll listen to the wider community either.
Valiant EQ was already working. It was clear, simple, and actually rewarding roster depth. You could complete EQ in about 15 days or less, and the progression felt fair. Now instead, we’re being handed harder fights that demand rank-ups just to get through, making it way more time-consuming and the rewards don’t even feel worth the extra grind.
If this is the path they want to take, then I don’t see how it benefits anyone except the very top spenders. For the rest of us, it just kills what little fun EQ had left.
Re: Since nobody is moderating forums...
It's not just lack of mods and Kabam staff.
There's also like no CCs or top players who post here.
Can't really blame them though, the forum is kinda just the same complaint (game too hard, sales bad, Kabam evil) over and over, usually by the same people, over and over.
I need to stop posting here myself to be honest. I've already gotten more involved in different line chats, I'll probably head to discord too now and stop coming here so frequently.
Re: The change to the monthly quest is really annoying
EQ. David. vs. Goliath
Not everyone is a hard core gamer that plays MCOC. Some of us, have no interest in going against champions that are quadruple the rating of our attacker. And nodes that are so complicated that we need to search the web for meanings and possible champions. If you want that, that is awesome, but to force us into that being the only option, is unfortunate.
I could use EQ as that outlet with the monthly challenges. I could take my own time and level I wanted to tackle. If I wanted to go all in on a valiant EQ run, cool. But my nightly play will surely not be trying to get through a path in EQ now.
We will see if totally removing EQ from my game play, will even keep me interested.
