A thought crossed my mind as I was testing VtD at r2 today. The relic is obviously not a statcast so I wondered if they released it as a battlecast instead and well, so they did

A few months ago when statcast relics were first announced there were a good chunk of threads claiming Kabam was probably planning on just discontinuing battlecasts permanently and sticking to statcasts only due to the complexity when it came to designing battlecasts. They took a lot of time and work to design because they essentially added stuff to certain champ's kits whereas statcasts are way way simpler, all they do is boost stats.

What I'm getting to here is that battlecasts might not be done for after all, this might be a test or a glimpse into what the future might hold for battlecasts. Exact same concept just a different approach, every battlecast will target one champ and one champ only instead of multiple ones, effectively eliminating the complexity that came with having to design relics around multiple kits. If this is the direction they're taking battlecasts in then I'm all for it, the one thing I will however beg Kabam to not do is monetize them because that would be a very dumb decision.

Ah yes, the forever problematic A.I. in MCOC. It's hilarious how:

1. the defender will "evade" or block the striker, even after you've done a perfect hit combo.
2. the defender will randomly block the 2nd part of a special attack, after getting hit.
3. When it has a power gain buff, it will hold power until it reaches Sp. 3.
