I really disliked Relics when they came out. I disliked how Kabam was trying to force them on us, I disliked how it felt like relic materials/resources were either replacing other rewards or that we were forced to choose between Relic mats or Champion mats.

Relics were also super limited. For something that was being forced on us there was a really weird gatekeeping vibe about Relics that just, seemed awkward. It felt like Kabam both wanted to force them down our throats but also not give us any effective way to get them.

Now most players are at a point where we're excited for new relics. Not because there's been a complete 180 on the above points, but because their relative value has risen* due to the fact that nothing has been done with them. Competitive players are forced to bind and unbind relics constantly and it's such a pain - let's not overlook the fact that binding and unbinding was initially supposed to cost us units.

Everything about the Relics was (and kind of still is) just... not good. Now, they have grown on me, kind of, but mostly because they were put on pause, no longer shoved down our throats and acquisition has seemed natural as a result. I still fall behind when it comes to ranking them because it feels too expensive to prioritize relics over champions. Not to mention, the hiatus kind of added a sort of "Is there a point?" to the whole situation. We couldn't even rank them beyond a certain point.

Now an announcement has been made about new Relics coming. Which is actually kind of great, except there's been allusion to the fact that these different types of relics will potentially come with completely different resources and crystals.

Has there not been commentary about the goal moving forward to de-clutter things?

We don't even have a way to r4 our 6* Striker relics. There's supposed to be five ranks. The thought of a completely separate set of crystals and resources of rank materials for the Stat Cast relics is already exhausting. We are theoretically looking at: shards for Premium Crystals, 3-7* champion crystals, 3-6* Strikers, , Iso, Embers, Alloys, Catalysts from T1-7 Basic, T1-6 Cass and T1-4 Alpha, then shards and resources for whatever the range for Stat cast would be??

Are these going to be as gate-kept as the original ones were? Are we now looking at having to choose between spending resources on materials/crystals for Strikers, Champions, Stat Cast, etc?? Are we looking at Stat Cast materials replacing other things in quest rewards? I already have a hard enough time trying to keep track of everything I need to rank the relics we have.

Please, please, please for the love of Odin and everything else just have Stat Cast relics and Strikers use the same rank materials and acquisition methods.
