Re: Kabam Hypocrisy Exposed
A 1:1 is insane. They just rush out to say something. Could have thought about it before making a rash decision and easily could have said "looking into the situation to address accordingly". Something will be done regardless and it takes days to receive compensation anyways. The boost some accounts will get after this… I'm not sure if I'm on the benefiting end of this, but giving a flat compensation to everyone wouldn't be so bad, would it? Like we all get 10 7* crystals and call it a day. Not sure if progression would affect things. You were supposed to bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!
Re: Kabam Hypocrisy Exposed
They wouldn't. But in this hypothetical. They're too incompetent at making decisions themselves, and the community has proven they have a vastly superior way of thinking; therefore, combine the two, and you get an actual good decision.
And for the love of god, let's stop pretending that this compensation exists in a vacuum. Everything in this game exists in the context of everything else; therefore, it is not just for the people directly impacted. This compensation impacts the entire game and player base, whether they receive it or not.
Re: Incursion Prices Are Just To High
They are only available with units buying wise and definitely cost way too much. Sometimes you are better off just restarting unless you are on like the last fight and dont want to do it all again. The costs should be revised
Re: Seems like a good company policy!
The first part of their statement could be applied to a resolution that doesn’t necessarily result in the same follow up action.
Sending them Crystals with the same percentage chance to open one of the new champs with none of the old champs is how it would be done if they were concerned at all about the community and game economy. Throw in some gold or battleship filler.
No summoner would be out anything. No summoner would have a been overcompensated… but it WOULD require effort for Kabam to fix their mistake. And it’s becoming clear that isn’t in their interest.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
We all will be impacted as soon as the compensation is sent, because every account exists in relation to all the others. This is the system that Kabam has carefully built and they take every opportunity to fan the flames of competitiveness or FOMO that keep the whole engine turning.
So when they make a dramatic mistake, and then they choose a remedy that while making some people whole, actually gives those same people a considerable unearned advantage, that’s a problem.
If you don’t think this stuff matters, don’t take my word for it. All you have to do is look at the game economy itself. Kabam sells — for trophy tokens, radiance, cash, whatever — seven star crystals, Titan shards and sig stones. Ask the game team if those things have no value. Ask them if prestige doesn’t matter. (Hint: those items all have value and prestige is the framework upon which the future of the game is built.)
As often as I disagree with your takes, I don’t think you’re unintelligent. So in this case I have to assume you’re just being obtuse.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
I have enough for 101 7* crystals!!
I knew about the bug, read it in forum.
But, Sadly, I did the wrong thing and did not take advantage of it.
All of a sudden, everything ethical just goes out the window.
So many different (and fair) way kabam could have solved this. Instead of doing what's right, they did what was easy.
All the money I saved for banquet, don't feel like using anymore.
Wondering if it's still worth playing. After many years, maybe this is sign to walk away.
U suck, kabam!
Re: Kabam Hypocrisy Exposed
I mean, that is pretty much the lesson I've learned from this incident. Hoard resources, wait for glitches (won't have to wait too long with this game), and then exploit exploit exploit. Why would anyone do the right thing when Kabam rewards doing the opposite?
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
A better solution would've been to make an "Oops" crystal with just the 21 missing champs during the bug window in it. Send 1 of those for every 8 crystals people opened during the bug, which represents about the ratio of new champs to old in the pool now. That's a fair compensation that tries to give you exactly what you missed out on, since, on average, every 8th pull would've been one of those new champs. It doesn't give you the huge benefit of opening 8 times as many crystals instead, which lets you get top tier older champs, sig stones, awakenings, shards, etc., all things you ALREADY got when you opened your original stash of crystals. You don't need that stuff compensated, you only need the missing new champs compensated. 7 of the 8 crystals you opened originally were always going to be older champs. You got the right thing out of those crystals. So there's no reason to give you those crystals back and let you open them again.

Re: Kabam Hypocrisy Exposed
The way they decided to compensate the issue literally broke my heart. I do not know what I want from this game. It feels so disrespectful for all my time, effort and money while building up the prestige comparing to hudnreds of free sig stones they are going to gift to "lucky" people at "lucky" time.
