Re: Roll EQ’s Back to the old version (or not)
To clarify my position as my previous post wasn’t clear - I like the idea of adaptive EQ. It’s just the execution I think they failed on.
Keep elder and just tweak the lower level rewards. Also leave an easy level for people that don’t want to hit end game content. Classic is scaled way too high it’s ridiculous.
Re: Roll EQ’s Back to the old version (or not)
I really don’t understand how Kabam thought this new Event Quest format was a step forward.
Under the old system, I was Valiant — the top tier — and could complete that level for top-tier rewards while still having access to all the lower difficulties. That meant I could choose to auto-play the easier ones for a bit of casual fun and pick up extra resources without burning out.
Now with the new prestige-based scaling, I’ve dropped to a much lower bracket because my roster is small and my top 30 prestige is only ~18k. The result? The rewards are worse than what I previously earned as Valiant, and I’ve lost access to every lower difficulty. There’s nothing I can auto-play, nothing light and fun to grind, and everything feels like a chore.
Even worse, the new “Classic” difficulty — which you have to complete to even unlock the main Elder difficulty — is wildly overtuned. I checked the first node and the opponent has 763k health. For comparison, 8.4 content (which I’m actively exploring) has fights with around 576k health. That’s supposed to be the upper end of content — and this is a monthly EQ at the lowest difficulty?
The new system removes flexibility, reduces rewards for a huge chunk of players, and increases difficulty across the board. It actively punishes smaller rosters, even if you’ve pushed through and earned high progression titles like Valiant. The entire experience now feels joyless, grindy, and unwelcoming.
I used to look forward to EQ every month. Now? It feels like content I’m being pushed out of.
This isn’t just a miss — it’s a massive step backward. Not everything HAS to be be end game content!

Re: Elder Valiant Event Quest Difficulty Feedback
this is the most absurd thing this game has seen. Really thinking of just completely walking away. I have a top 300 roster in the world and have no desire to do act 9 level fights every month for event quest. What a complete joke.

Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
I think what people hate is the scaling of the attack and health on the opponents. EQ isn’t supposed to be about crazier and crazier attack and health pools that’s no fun. There just trying to make money on potions and revives with this ridiculous scaling. They will see eventually when players stop playing EQ how bad they messed up the scaling of difficulty
Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
I honestly don’t know why they’re doing this. It feels like Kabam doesn’t really understand what the community actually needs. What’s crazy is they have access to some of the best content creators out there—people who not only play competitively but also actively engage with the community on YouTube. Either those creators aren’t passing feedback on, or the dev team/management is just ignoring it. And if that’s the case, then I doubt they’ll listen to the wider community either.
Valiant EQ was already working. It was clear, simple, and actually rewarding roster depth. You could complete EQ in about 15 days or less, and the progression felt fair. Now instead, we’re being handed harder fights that demand rank-ups just to get through, making it way more time-consuming and the rewards don’t even feel worth the extra grind.
If this is the path they want to take, then I don’t see how it benefits anyone except the very top spenders. For the rest of us, it just kills what little fun EQ had left.

Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
Skipping and will probably retire. Have others in my aliiance saying the same. Half of my playing time is auto fighting uncollected and below to finish out the daily event. This change kills autofighting and forces you to put the game front and center whenever you are online.
Dumbest change I've seen in a decade and they really have no clue how many play this game. This game was fun if I can casually play. I'd even drop $5 here and there. An app I use every day, why wouldn't I give something nominal every now and then?
I haven't done a side quest in months. Couldn't be bothered to log on every 7hrs after they did away with timed crystals. Now I can't do anything casual with worthwhile rewards? The lower level EQ stuff was a source of units since they don't give it for the higher levels. And no, the rewards aren't great and wonderful that units aren't needed. Stupidest justification I ever heard.
I'm comfortable walking away after a decade at this point. It's no longer a fun diversion.
Can't believe I just autofought cat runs for the stupid daily event while I finished up work. What a joke.

Recently Valiant and not Happy With Changes
When I started back I had a few rank 4 six stars and no 7 star champions. I wanted to try to catch up so I pushed hard for Valiant. I explored act 8, I’ve done completion through 9.2. I was able to get myself to Valiant with free resources in the Deadpool event during the spring. I now have two r4 7 stars and nearly 60 7 stars overall. I have been happy with the new rewards and the progression since becoming valiant. But, today’s changes really hit hard. My prestige dropped from 25k to 18k. I can only go for the bottom tier of rewards now? It really feels like those who pushed to become valiant because the title and rewards mattered are now being shoved aside.
Why make a rewards system that makes it more difficult for valiant players with lower prestige? I was trying to catch up and be competitive. But you made the mountain 20 times higher as every player with higher prestige gets to keep growing their accounts more rapidly.
I’m so glad I didn’t spend to achieve my account improvements. If I had, I’d be even more unhappy. Does the Valiant title still mean anything?
I’m so disappointed Kabam
Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
Soooo I complete the same quest as another player at the same difficulty and get less rewards because of my prestige? I’m trying to see how this makes sense but I’m struggling.

Re: Criticisms of Adaptive Difficulty EQ
hate it. I didn't really have the time to grind out and the easy auto play units were nice to collect. So whats the point of grinding for a bunch of 6* awakening gems???? Nothing I see is something worth putting forth the effort for. It really sucks the next step is quitting the game.
