Valiant EQ is missing just one thing
I really love the new valiant eq format. Roster restrictions are a great way to make the content engaging for endgame players without making the quests stupidly difficult, and if people are complaining that their rosters aren’t big enough, the content isn’t for them.
My only complaint is the lack of story dialogue this month. I loved seeing it in there last month, and I am hoping we get to experience the monthly story in each iteration of valiant EQ in the future!

This format for July is awful. I much prefer last months format. Swapping out 3 champions at a time is pointless - either way you need to plan in advance. If anything the stakes feel higher in last months format because you are relegated to one champ per fight; if you bring a non-optimal counter you are stuck. Here if you enter a fight with the wrong champ and they die, you can just use one of the other 3 to finish the job (granted they don’t have the degen debuff already). Then revive the first champ for the next fight.
AND OBVIOUSLY WE DONT WANT TO FIGHT THE BOSSES 6 TIMES THAT IS SUCH A POTENTIAL RESOURCE WASTE FOR BS BOSSES ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING EVERY OTHER NEW CHAMP IS A BS DEFENDER.

I’d like to preserve my resources for endgame Everest content, not the monthly EQ. I’m fine dropping a couple revives if I mess up but I don’t want to waste them to deal with BS bosses that I have to fight multiple times for no apparent reason. Bosses are bosses for a reason, you fight them once at the END!

Doom is better, it's not even close.lol
Immunities, power control, buff control, amazing damage, stun on command, dual threat.
Kate Bishop is long form fodder and you can't even use her in endgame content so she is irrelevant.
In case anyone newer is reading, please ignore this. Kate is amazing. No idea what this person is on about.

Mine appeared in my inventory despite not showing up when I finished the quest.
Tbh tho I’m not too sure what the point of having a 4-5 Gem in the rewards alongside Tier 7 Basic Fragments.
I was actually quite happy with the 4-5 gem, especially the mystic one. Ben wanting to take 6* Nico to R5, but didn't want to use the resources. That's the point, for me, at least...

It was very calculated and you could truly plan your defense on each node and make sure you scored points for having different defenders. Once we had it figured out, it was very enjoyable. Only part I didn’t enjoy was not having the one specific counter to a champ on a node. Like Attuma on that regen node - nefaria was pretty much needed - who I literally have been unable to pull for the longest timeNo. Attuma could be countered with all the heal block champs. I used warlock against him and solo'd pretty easily

Comp is coming, its mostly in line with with comp from similar outages in the past. More details to come once we're done testing the in-game message, but shoutout to Crashed for getting some Summoners Fest points added on to it!

But that's not really true here, except in an essentially unrealistic extreme. Spending offers an advantage between two players who otherwise are tied in all other respects, but having an advantage between two competitors who otherwise do exactly the same things equally well is not pay to win, that is literally all competitions.There are ranked rewards, which will be unobtainable unless you payI wouldn't call it pay to win. Sure, spending could be a tie breaker for points, but if you don't do everything, especially Raids, no amount of spending is going to catch you up.There are 300,000 total earnable points, so yes you can reach the top milestone, even if you miss a few.Why do you make everything p2w?
Well, technically speaking $24,000 USD might catch you up. But even among the mega whales I suspect the number of people who will actually do that is very close to zero.
Since about a third of the realm points are in Raids, and my alliance doesn't do raids (much less Nightmare Raids which seems to be required to cap out the milestones) I'm basically out of it. But the event is still giving me a ton of rewards for basically just playing the game more or less as I normally do, so I can't be too upset. I find it ... odd that there's so much emphasis on Raids given their presumptive optional nature - and the fact they are tied to alliances, meaning individual players cannot simply choose to do them just for the event - but I suppose Kabam has its reasons there.
I would call that pay to win
I come from the ancient generation of game players that did not just make up new meanings for words to justify their use. Once upon a time, calling this situation "pay to win" would have gotten you laughed off the discussion boards. Of course, that was back when literacy was almost a prerequisite to even get on the internet, since you needed to at least be able to read instructions to do so.
By the way, there is literally no possible avenue by which a Chess player can become the FIDE world champion without spending money. Therefore, Chess is a pay to win competition.
