If anything I think the reach 100 - 200 point objectives should last the entire season so everyone can at least try to achieve it, but the reach GC makes more sense to have a shorter time window, so the big accounts move up faster

They are chase items designed to encourage the big accounts to move out of vc and lower gc faster and not camp so smaller accounts like yours will have an easier time getting to the gc later in the month. If you're not able to achieve them in the set time then they simply aren't designed for you to be achievable yet.

Story is the most consistent thing in this game that isn't "cash-grabbing, soul sucking, grinding". If they took nodes out the game would be infinitely more boring.
It forces strategy, using a variety of champions, and brings a legitimate challenge. There's literally nothing challenging about big health pools and high attack values. If you don't want a challenge, stick to Hi-Ho Cherry-O.
