I heard in a stream that arena buff might happen any time but wanted to know when will this buff going to occur.

All you have to do is score more than 15,000 points. It's not that hard to counter the people that pause.

Your analogy doesn't apply as pausing, in 99.9% of cases, puts the offender at a disadvantage.
Kabam has said in the past that they were looking into ways around pausing, but determined nothing feasible to be reasonable. They have since (years ago) stated that, while not playing the game doesn't fit within the spirit of the contest they do not consider it cheating and do not view it as an exploit to gain an unfair advantage. Case closed.

You do not want Kabam to buff arenas because they will nerf unit farming. They don't have to do that, but they've said they would if they ever touched anything in arena at all. They've never said in a stream that they are planning to buff arenas, because they aren't, and we don't want them to. It's all about the units and they're the easiest to get that they've ever been.

I have about 40 energy refills in my stash.
That should net about 60-80k points.
The only thing stopping me is how mind-numbingly boring this game mode is.
