After 8 years of spending, I’ve decided to fully stop until this is canceled. If it’s not, I will be permanently done spending. I will continue to spend if she keeps her abilities on offense.

And yet there's an easy fix that doesn't require angering your fanbase. Remove it on defense only. We know they can do it. TBH the fact that they haven't come out and said they'll do that already leads me to believe they're pulling a fast one here. I'm not usually one to yell my head off on the forums but this one doesn't make a lot of sense.
