Interesting thing about the arena. Something I only noticed today is a shift in rank scoring.

Generally I try to get all the milestones in at least the two bigger arenas (I don't always have the time to do so for Trials). So I tend to score pretty consistently in the featured: 12 - 12.5 million. This usually places me around 5k in rank, plus or minus. Since th 18th, I've been placing ten thousand places lower, implying that ten thousand more players are scoring higher than me - i.e. going after all the milestones.

This did not happen last year. The logical conclusion is that enthusiasm for the banquet is so much higher this year than last year that tens of thousands of players either decided to push much harder than they normally o or did arena at all when they normally don't, or both. Enthusiasm for the banquet ha bled into enthusiasm for doing the arena (or at least tolerating it) to a dramatically noticeable fashion in a way that did not happen in 2024.

This is how good 2025's banquet has been received generally: I see players of all types all over the place saying they hope there are a couple rewards like that in higher milestones just to watch the whiners cry about it.

When the players actually say, hey, I got plenty of rewards, I can afford to lose some just to watch people get all huffy about it, now that's a lot of rewards.

They don't know that's how they are viewed outside of their bubble, mores the pity, but I find it fascinating nonetheless. That's the problem with leading the mob. Sometimes they are following you, and sometimes they are just pointing at you and laughing behind your back.

Two billion+ points above last year is an awful lot of giggling.

Now, so there is no confusion. If someone doesn't like the banquet, that's their prerogative. If someone doesn't like some aspect of it, it is their right to provide that feedback. Personally not liking things is a personal thing. Different people like different things. It is only when you think you represent some giant contingent of the silent majority who are all equally dissatisfied as you are and try to sell that narrative that it ceases to be honest feedback and becomes performance art.
