This is exactly right. It's possible that the very top alliances will still mandate prestige rank ups while they adjust, but I would be surprised if it's more than three alliances by the end of the year, and beyond that I will be surprised if any of them do it at all. The likely way forward is that alliances that care about prestige will require a specific target, and they will let their players figure out how to get there.

The goal of this change was to make it so that broad roster power was what matters. If you look at your top 30 prestige and think about it, you will see that's what you should focus on. For instance, the difference in prestige between my two top prestige champions at R4 Sig 200, Onslaught (34210) and Photon (33670), is 540. The difference between R4 Sig 200 Photon (33670) and R3 Sig 100 Photon (25078) is OVER 8000 prestige. Who you rank up and sig up now matters a lot less, what matters is how many R4s you have and how high their sig is.

There is no doubt that there will be an adjustment period. But this is a new paradigm for thinking about roster power, and lots of players are still stuck in the old way of thinking.

yes had the exact same thought, new progression levels will be prestige based from now on.

If anything it is more likely to be a path away from a new progression title, or at least a much longer path towards one.

Hello. A couple things to consider as we move into this new world.

1. Everybody's prestige dropped. The average drop for a top 100 alliance was over 5,000.
2. There are no "reward tiers" in the new EQ. The numbers you saw on the livestream are sample prestige numbers to demonstrate how rewards change, but most of the rewards are tuned on a continuous curve (obviously some items like sig stones that can't be divided any further unlock at various thresholds).
3. Some of the rewards have an end to the curve. Some of them curve beyond the top prestige in the game. This is what we meant by making sure the EQ rewards are never outdated again. We want them to scale, as summoners do, forever.
