I’ve been lucky to avoid obvious cheaters this season. When you do run upon them, it’s demoralizing and frustrating, and the perception that they get away with it makes it doubly so.

Add in a heaping dose of Loki emote spams after cheaters pull off an “impossible” fight and it’s enough to make you want to avoid BGs altogether.

Does the team still apply the rule that cheaters lose their rewards, but keep their ranking spot when they get punished? If I recall correctly, the team’s position was that BG cheating bans didn’t affect standings. Is that still the case?

You don't get radiance for hitting GC. You get radiance as a reward based on your rank in GC at the conclusion of the season. But before you think that means as soon as the season ends, it more realistically means Friday when season rewards normally (without guarantee) go out.

I view it similar to poker. Anyone can lose to anyone via luck, but over a long stretch of time skill will win out.
And just like a sufficient bankroll is necessary to play poker, you need at least a decent roster to compete, even if you have tons of skill.

Casinos typically have single digit percentage edges over the players, and in the long run the casino always ends up on top. When skill gives players as much as a 25% edge in a BG match, the higher skilled players are going to sort themselves to the top far faster than the 0.5% edge the casino has in blackjack.

After finishing my objectives, it is interesting seeing my Gamma 4 "rank" continue to slip down as we head into the last day. My ranking has slipped 1000+ in the past half day.

It definitely does seem like the Radiance jump between Uru and Gamma is encouraging a lot of players to increase the points needed to be in Gamma 4.

Can confirm all of this. Happens every season, especially when rewards are juiced. If you want to park during the last three to four days, you probably needed to be Gamma 1 in order not to fall all the way to Uru. Tons of movement with so many people cramming matches in the final 24 hours.

It’s both. There is luck in draft/ai and skill in gameplay and roster progression (which is done outside the game mode). So like 70% skills a d 30% luck.

If someone fights a Dark Phoenix how much of that is skill and how much of that would be luck if she just keeps spamming specials with unstopable
