Yes that happened to me, and someone else posted about it too, no idea what's the issue, I restarted the quest and tried to keep the charges from the node below 10, so far so good. I read that node like 10 times, I have no idea where the damage is coming from.
It's a bug. There are a few fights where the degen that's supposed to be on defenders, gets transferred to attacker. So far, I've seen on Vox, Gorr & Kingpin

Anybody who thought they could farm points by doing zone 1 over and over needs to learn how to use a door knob first.Bro I thought bout farming points repeatedly and I don't know how to use a door knob 😭

I also got the mysterious degen damage while fighting Kingpin in the Skill defender quest. Toad proceeded to die a horrible and painful death for no discernible reason.
