Re: VALIANT EVENT QUEST - CHECK IN!
Bravo, Kabam. Really, standing ovation. You somehow managed to take the one piece of content everyone enjoyed every month and turn it into a steaming pile of frustration.
- Rewards? Trash compared to the effort.
- Energy costs? Hope you like swiping your credit card.
- Node design? Less “creative challenge,” more “let’s see how fast we can force revives down their throats.”
- Bugs? Of course, wouldn’t be Kabam without them.
This EQ doesn’t feel like new content. It feels like a badly coded cash grab designed by someone who doesn’t even play the game.
You broke it — now fix it. And while you’re at it, compensate the players who wasted their time and resources on this disaster.

Re: Kabam, Adaptive EQ Isn’t "Adaptive"... It’s Just Broken
4) Scrapt it
You don’t really see the reward you get. Not even sure I got everything I was supposed to get even though it says I claimed it.
Nodes that were supposed to help you don’t (the mutant chapter).
It requires a line up deeper then Crucible because of champ restrictions (How tech with armour up do you have?)
chip damage is insane, even for R4 champs.
they said challenging? Right ? Not end game content?? Right?
I don’t mind difficult, but the rewards have to fit.
And really, really, really tired of getting buggy, unfinished piece of 💩
Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
I’m on Quest 3 of Elder… and this is 1000% the worst type of content. It’s like the Wheel of Fate genius thought doubling down with less interesting monthly design would change our minds…
1.) it’s not interesting or engaging. It’s lazy recycled TB EQ… with larger attack and HP… and it took us 2 to 3 years to come up with this concept… I mean yawn
2.) it’s not challenging, insane block damage and AI that’s having a seizure do not equal challenging, and that’s about all it has going for it
3.) it is unbelievably long for what EQ should be, and that’s putting aside the stupendously horrid decision to require classic. Even if that wasn’t required these fights are still overly long unless you have a perfect counter… which for archaic modes designed for TB EQ… just don’t make sense over 15+ fights.
Im glad I started this horrific **** show now… as the completionist in me will need all month to get motivated enough to slog through this ****.
What’s the point of testing these last months if you’re just gonna do something completely different anyways. The arrogance is peak

Re: Kabam, Adaptive EQ Isn’t "Adaptive"... It’s Just Broken
Yeah I take it back. I said in another post that it wasn't all that bad but that was before I had tried the elder difficulty.
The mere fact that we don't have champ health restored is insane considering how high these defender stats are. Yeah just not worth the trouble. This coming from a content wh*re.
Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
A lot of the stuff in here I agree with. I also wanted to add that this node design is stale and outdated. How are you going to give us a tech node requiring us to have armor up buffs, when within the last two years, you have given us ONE champ with an armor up buff. And she (ironheart) doesn’t even work with the node due to her reducing the opponent’s ability accuracy!
You don’t even need to reinvent the wheel! Just make it armor up effects and it would be better! But man, some creativity with these nodes would make the experience at least a little better. It’s hard to see a positive with this adaptive EQ outside the theory of it. Its great on paper, just has been executed extremely poorly
Re: I know I'm not the only one ...
I seriously question if they even discuss “fun” anymore in their meetings…. At least in terms of the average to above average player.
Everest or here is some poker/turn based RPG is not it

Re: A different perspective on the new EQ
Will give it a run at tier 8/15 next week but your thoughts are consistent with my initial analysis.
Seatin critique seems spot-on:
- Shouldn’t have to do Classic to do Elder
- Attack values overtuned
- Rewards too backloaded
Overall, it looks relatively low on fun.

Re: I know I'm not the only one ...
Kabam has reached a whole new level of delusional lately. It honestly feels like they have no idea what to do and what not to do anymore. Their “main motive” seems to be making sure players are as frustrated as possible.
I mean, how do they not even understand the basic purpose of a monthly quest? Sure, they slap the word “adaptive” on it, but adaptive to who exactly? Because it’s definitely not adaptive to anyone playing - every fight feels like Everest content with defenders swinging 23k+ attack like it’s nothing. Super fun design choice…
And instead of tackling the endless bugs, crashes, and all the competitive integrity issues that are actually ruining the game, they waste resources changing stuff that wasn’t even broken. It’s like they go out of their way to fix what nobody asked for, while ignoring everything players actually care about.
If they really wanted to push this “adaptive prestige” nonsense, they should’ve just tied it to rewards and kept the fights fair. Defender attack should scale from the ground up, not start off at absurd levels.
At this point, it feels less like game design and more like Kabam’s running an endurance test to see how long players will stick around.

Re: Are you skipping EQ this month?
Yeah, they've essentially never updated the EQ nodes since 2020. Tech champions especially never seem to benefit from the nodes, whether it be heal block (not a lot of new Tech champions have that) or the Armor buff power drain. Even the Science nodes aren't beneficial since the small list of debuffs that qualify aren't really debuffs that newer Science champions place.
I did one completion of Classic just to see what Elder was like, and yup, it feels a lot harder than prior month's EQ (and harder than Wheel of Fate) with the same/worse rewards as prior months.
Gonna skip on Elder, and will probably not even explore Classic either.
