Re: The Problem with The Compensation
I'm reminded of Airlines honouring cheap first class flights for customers who managed to book tickets during bugs before the bugs are fixed
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
yes kabam can you please announce the next time you plan on screwing a crystal release up this so bad so we can all get free 7 stars lol. Some people are getting 50+ free 7 stars out of this. Did you guys really think this through? What’s the cash/unit value on something like that?
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
This genuinely has me contemplating putting the game down for good. This is literally the one thing Kabam shouldn't have done.
@Kabam (Osaurus) Rex This wasn't it
Re: Battlegrounds Paygap
Actually, the "farmable solo events" only helps weaker players. First, because it lures more of them to the mode, which mean they have a higher chance of matching against each other: in effect the strength of the competitors gets diluted. And second, it encourages players to farm points in VT, and the way people farm points in VT is to trade wins and losses to hover in VT and not promote out. But to do that, they have to give two losses for every win. Which means every VT point farmer is in effect a horrible player that is only winning one third of their matches, and conversely weaker players who run into them have a 66% chance of beating them regardless of their strength.
These two things (more the former than the latter actually) combine to cause a lot more players to enter GC when these types of events are run, and disproportionately more weaker players get into GC than otherwise would. It is actually when nothing special is happening that BG tends to be populated more with die hards than casuals, and the strength of competition is higher.
However, the big caveat is this is true mainly for the back end of the season. When there's special events happening, the start of the season is especially hard, because initially there's a ton of very strong players who normally don't do BG jumping in, and because they don't play often they get placed much lower in VT than normal. Until those guys promote out and clear the lower tiers, you can run into very strong players while trying to climb VT.
I got into GC yesterday, and I can say that above Diamond 3 or so it was packed with very strong rosters: far stronger than I typically see. But my guess is that in a couple weeks that will drop off substantially, and it will be easier for lower strength players to make progress. I'm actually trying to push a low Paragon account into GC this season just to see how the competition shifts over time, given the extra long season.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
Its not about entitlement, its about the unfair advantage.
My original post details advantages obtained, but one thing i forgot to include is that The number of Titan Shards are basically doubled for anyone who did open now.
Also when Mike first pinged in the discord that the crystals were bugged, someone who wasnt even planning on opening any crystals, or not opening their full amounts worth, could've read the ping and at that moment just opened everything.
Thats analagous to us knowing a side quest has a bug for an exploit, and once awareness is raised, players then jump in on it to benefit. But with this type of compensation, those players who took advantage of the crystals being bugged actually get rewarded instead, and like i said this sets the wrong model for when a future fiasco occurs.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
I get why they did it, but kabam just gave a group of summoners double 7 star crystals for free. I’m not mad at them, I’m glad they got great compensation for a kabam mistake. You have to understand it’s hard to know that if you opened all of your crystals 5-10 minutes earlier you could have had a 2 for 1 haul. Seriously though, I’m happy kabam helped those affected.
Re: No compensation will be enough, rollback is only solution
Looks like those who waited get a massive L. Big W for those who opened early. Could be upwards of 1000 sig stones as well as gold, iso, and shards. I feel like it would go over better if they at least gave those unaffected something given the giant advantage that will be for some players. They should have handled it like last time and extended the window. The extended window is likely the only way to keep it remotely fair. But other than that I don’t know how they could have made it better
Re: No compensation will be enough, rollback is only solution
Kabam you want to make this right, sell generic unlimited signature stones for 1 gold… and awakening gems for a dirt bottom price.
You guys just shattered the value of ANY QUEST OR CONTENT, that includes 7* Shards, 7* Titan Shards, and Sig crystals or stones as rewards. The only unaffected reward from now on is rank up materials.
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
if you didn’t open any crystals why would you be entitled to anything? I opened 50 after it was fixed, I shouldn’t get anything.
