Read the dang message!!!
Reinforces my point that most MCOC summoners either can't read, too lazy to read or just dumb!!
Re: Proof That Kabam Engages in Predatory Practices
I would reframe your analogy to be closer to the MCOC scenario.
It would be like a snack bag of nuts with the front wrapper showing cashews, hazelnuts, and almonds, and then when you open it, there are also peanuts in it.
In any event, we all know regulations are intended to protect the most vulnerable and weak people from manipulative corporate tactics.
Just because someone is dumb or low intelligence or has impulse control issues does not mean we should just let corporations take advantage of them because you or I would not fall victim to the same manipulation.

Re: Proof That Kabam Engages in Predatory Practices
I think loot boxes, unlike the sigil pass or the unit collector's card or similar MCOC in-app purchases, is what makes MCOC a de facto gambling game because loot boxes trigger players' addictive vulnerabilities. Endless retries to get high value items with very low odds, no safety rails, no spending limits, and nobody to stop you when you're clearly spiraling.
And unlike actual gambling websites, there isn't even a disclaimer or help line talking about seeking help if you have a gambling addiction.
So yes, I found it very interesting that MCOC advertised regular in-app purchases but hid the fact that they offer loot boxes.
And this is exactly why the UK said MCOC's ad was misleading, because Kabam was not disclosing to new players that its monetization includes gambling-style loot boxes.
Re: How rare is this?
you can look in the app store or Play Store and see when you downloaded it, I think. Or look back at purchase history for when you first bought anything if you've spent. Or if you're on Android and have achievements turned on in Play, you can look at the achievements, they're dated.
Re: Proof That Kabam Engages in Predatory Practices
I know you are joking but who knows what other practices Kabam is engaged in and how things will shake out with additional scrutiny or additional consumer protection laws, especially from European lawmakers and in liberal United States jurisdictions.
When it comes to spenders, MCOC is basically a gambling website, but avoids gambling regulations because the rewards are owned by Kabam and have no independent value.
Many lawmakers and advocates are lobbying against such a legal loophole for gacha mobile apps.

Re: Please stop putting chase pieces in BGs.
One thing this banquet did was not just boost the top cream, but made all active players catchup by getting everyone closer to 30 r4 deck. I know I didn't had full r4 deck but I could draft 7 r4s. That made a difference.
And then there was 6 week Bgs, eww. Hated that.
