Disgusting greed. That's what it is. Nothing more, nothing less. They expect players to spend hundreds a month on a mobile video game and even then you're still not guaranteed to remain competitive and relevant. Every 6 months they come up with something frustrating and greedy to make their fanbase furious and then they say they realise they missed the mark and promise to fix it. Few months pass, same thing. Money, money, money. Disgusting.
At the same time there is barely any fun content in the game, they think grind until your fingers fall off equals fun. BGs that are somewhat fun, relevant content but will become absolute nightmare with that ascention pay wall nonsense.
Makes you wonder what genius is making these decisions in Kabam.
I play this game for a decade now but I am so fed up with this constant monetisation. Pop ups, deals, pay wall, subscription. Where does it end? Is this game made for Sheiks and lotto winners? Ridiculous.

This was predicted to happen anyway. I am really not sure why people are surprised at all. Put yourself in the business stand point. When you hear stories of F2P players saving 50k units for banquet and getting everything, F2P players saving 200k Titan shards and 1 mill 7* shards waiting for the next roll over. Oh yay I was smart I hoarded everything for a whole year and got everything I wanted!! Oh wait ...

State of the Game and Future moving forward.
Well its been roughly 24 hours since the diabolical livestream yesterday and I genuinly have still not been able to process everything. So I just wanted to put it into words.
After the sheer success of banquet event idk what has happened at kabam hq, there doesn't seem to be any sentiment to maybe make the lives of the player base easy except the whales (Mind you I never blame them after all they are a significant reason this game is successful in the first place)
Lets first see what was addressed yesterday that completely throws off any idea about integretity at Kabam.
- The CCP exclusive livestreams that will basically kill growth for all non ccp members on twitch during those weeks, create resentment towards ccp members even though they don't deserve it as people will basically be forced to watch their streams (at least put it in the background) to get rewards which could have simply been part of the promo code system kabam had been using previously which I still consider to be significantly better than drops.
- New Champion Ascension, After hearing our pleas to make titan crystals feel valuable again we have instead devalued them into the ground for any p2p player (1-3% of the player base) by making it a must to pull new champs from featured valiants as the whole reason they whale is to be at the top of the game and at the same time have made them useless for f2p players because they simply won't be able to have those champs at a meaningful powerlevel not to mention the challenger rating fisco where imo 2 levels of ascension should have match one rank up instead even one level of ascension increases it more than a rank up giving even rank 5 champions a pseudo weakness against r4a1 champs. This feels very reminecent of the 6 star challenger rating fiasco we had before it was toned down. Not to mention the talk about making Valiants better when kabam clearly knows that players don't open the crystals as they are not worth the unit investment to return and still absolutely won't be again reflects the tone deafness that seems to permeate within the management.
- Magik, X-23, Dr Strange, while I understand reworking them and some of them even being good like Dr. Strange we have basically given a big middle finger to the og fans of these champions, all of us knew that they would not be allowed to be as broken as they orignally were even X-23 whose regen was 2nd only to wolverine beforehand but to kill their original identities just sends the wrong message in my personal opinion. Magik especially becoming basically a generic mystic champ now and well the typical introduce shi'tty defender *cough* Heimdall *cough* and then create a counter for it which would again proabably power crept within months normally but Madylene Prior did not even wait that long.
- 7 star ascension level 2 requiring t2 dust whereas unless I'm mad I clearly remeber it being stated that 7 star ascension will have completely new materials and will not be using the 6 star ascension materials at all.
- Normal Incusions being taken away is nothing but an excuse to remove what would have become an easy source of essentia for the players assuming ofcourse the essentia store is updated because it is another mode that has been useless for a while at this point. Will Kabam be shifting this essentia amount elsewhere was again something that was not communicated.
- Also the new progression titan being Elder Imo indicates to me exactly why direct access to Elder difficulty was not made a priority to be put into the game.
Looking back on it, The AI issues still exist to this day, if anything the situation is worse than before. Solo Crystal Shards are basially the most useless thing in the game after the buff to daily quests and super daily event. I believe we were told that all the stores in game would be receiving more incremental updates every few months but we haven't seen that infact I would say the store updates which used to be quite substantial previously have actually become weaker while taking the same time as before. Arena's are technically one of the few things which are imo in a good place because of the current power level and availability of 7 stars because even kabam admits they will make it worse if they touch it.
Even though I have given kabam benefit of the doubt almost everytime and am a little excited for the Carina Challenges that are coming as an endgame player. Yet at least for me this was the first time where it truly made me think if should continue to play this game.

it doesn't make sense at all, zero sense… Pavitr and lizard are ascendable (titan champions, in the titan crystal)
and all new 2026 champions don't drop ascension material from titan, its just stupid and ridiculous.
We were lead to believe all new champions starting with Lizard will be ascendable and drop ascension materials. so, it was a lie, or a carefully directed miss-understanding.
the only reason this is, its so they can sell the featured valiant crystals, (1 in 120 chance) I hate this.

Yeah, I always look forward to that chase feeling with a new rarity. Even duping a champ that relies on its dupe can be frustrating to chase but it's exciting when you finally get them. The rng based rank ups with a limited pool, coupled with ELEVEN RANKS... what was kabam thinking lol

It's not about just catching up. At this point to even play the game you have to pay. Like imagine you just pulled a new champ from a titan. You cannot take that champion to the highest level unless you spend thousands of dollars.
And beyond that, the game should give ways for even free to play players to compete.

Spenders still have to drop hundreds of dollars just to get ascension materials too. 99% of players (F2P and spenders) are locked out of ascending new champs. The only people who won't get affected are whales. Greedy kabam as always
