Re: April Platinum pass
There is no reveal because you can already see Kitty Pryde in the track. Platinum track champions are never a mystery.
Re: Battlegrounds
My alliance mate let me know he has finished his 7 wins for unranked battlegrounds which got him the Goblin shards and also the radiance. From the Goblin Shards he pulled a 2* Madelyne Pryor and he is sitting at over 1,600 for the Goblin Army Event.
The irony is I've done both the ranked and unranked battleground matches, the showcase, and Week 1 and 2 of Gwenpool side event and I'm sitting at 1,810 and he hasn't done the showcase or the ranked battleground objectives.
Interesting how RNG works.
Re: Battlegrounds
Well Kabam has already proven that 10k radiance isn't enough to get players to engage with BGs, so I do agree that playing five matches would make more sense than winning them. BGs engagement will continue to suffer without meaningful changes to the mode.
Re: Does anyone used ascended champs that you didn't use prior to their ascension
I took my Spider-Punk to r4 sig 200 after getting him ascended (he was r2 sig 40 before that), and he was one of my MVPs in the #Hero Ordeal run the other week. So that was a nice ascension-fueled rank-up. He hadn't really been on my radar prior to that. I knew he could do great things and he had always seemed like a champion I'd like, but I had him unawakened for so long that my initial hype around him kinda died down and I forgot about him in my roster. But when I pulled his ascension, I got the push I needed to finally invest in him (especially since he was the most wanted pull for a couple of buddies of mine).
I would overall say that there are three categories of champs, in my eyes:
- The ones I already have ranked up and really want to get ascended.
- The champs (like Punk) that I don't have ranked up, but who are on a kind of "I'll get to them at some point" list in my head. If they get ascended, that might push me to rank them up. Hit-Monkey is similar to Punk in that way, and he might go up now that I got him ascended.
- Champs that I'm not terribly interested in, ascended or not. I have a second account where I might rank some of them up just to see what they can do, but I don't have any interest in ranking them up on my main.
Re: Does anyone used ascended champs that you didn't use prior to their ascension
You didnt really ascend anyone intentionally, it was pure RNG, so wether you use them or not is not a waste at all. Maybe they got prestige value; but that's about it on the wasting part.
My ibomb got ascended I use him a bit more, the rest just sit there at r3 in my case.
Re: Great more unintentional Nerfs 😑
A handful of Champions going from "absolutely busted broken" in Raids to "pretty much the best options" in Raids is nowhere even remotely close to 12.0 version 2.0.
Re: Alliance colleseum ranked rewards?
Is this your first time doing Alliance Coliseum? Alliance rewards usually come around the middle of the following week. Same as all the other Alliance Coliseums before….
Re: Yet another state of the game video
I don't really know much about Liam apart from him winning last year Brawl, never watched any of his video and don't know if he stream or not, seen like a decent guy from the Brawl.
However this video from Liam really show so much insight, with so much I didn't realise, and really appreciated his openness.
First - We all hear of various rivalry between Celestial players, but from what Liam say, it sound like they all have a relatively health competitive attitude. Which is nice to see, but extremely sad to see so many have / are leaving the game.
Second) - Liam reflection of essentially being a pseudo whaling is also really revealing on how much MCoC is just about spending, players are either spending really cash and spend their real life time and grind for units so they can spend on sales.
The spending cohesion seem even strong this year with Ascension.
Third) Liam and Cantona feedback, this raised 2 extremely concerning points:-
- Kabam would much rather follow through with their mistakes, than openly admit, accept and make correction
- This have been stated before by other CCP, but the feeling of Kabam being arrogant is very real. Kabam is so lucky to have so many dedicated players with real insight into the game and the community, and are happy to provide support and advices to Kabam, but instead of utilising that to improve and make the game stronger, those advices are just fallen on deaf ears.
Fourth) I did not realise so many top end game players have already quit
While players quit and start all the time, it is worth asking, what is left.
Right now Liam quit because BG mode is broken, Bero quit because of Kabam decision to make exclusive Promo code and Twitch drop for CCP, Andrew quit because of Ascension acquisition, and that at the top end.
While at the bottom, how many new players are joining Kabam, the amount of times we have new players come to the forum asking to make sense of the game (and most of the time get shot down by forum warriors). How many of those players going to fight their way to C1.
It not hard to see the severe drop in BG participation, and that is before Ascension really take place, how many more season players willing to be the guinea pigs for Kabam to test out their crazy BG ideas (this off season sure if fun 🤯).
The only reason why we haven't hear bigger feedback on the state of the game is because people are just tired, tired of being angry, too tired to care.
Players come and go, but so are games. The only different is, players stop playing one game, they can easily find another game (or activities) to occupy their time. But how easy will the Kabam's employees find another jobs? How easy will Kabam or Netmarble to create another game with this kind of profit?
