No you don't, there is the daily Apothecary quest you can do to literally hoard potions and revives! I didn't spend a penny on anything to aid story progression.I appreciate your insight. But, I don’t spend money on this game & it seems you have to for revives. They just revamped act 5 and that needs to be done for act 6. If you're not going to progress in story content, you don't get access to latter-game content, and rewards.
I think your biggest problem is just not believing you can do it. Watch YouTube video's (In particular MCOCNoob's guides) and these should help you. They are the sole reason i progressed through Thronebreaker, Cavalier and Valiant. They are a huge help.
And just be willing to give it a go.

I took my 7* Sinister to 150 ahead of the Mutant Carina’s challenge and he was a total beast. Seriously considering taking him to 200.

The Battleground Metas have been truly awful lately. I really hope Kabam takes notice of this and reconsiders their designs for future seasons. I don't get why everything has to be so over the top. They have created genuinely awful to fight defenders lately which is fine if they at least give us a season that is simple and easy.
Why can we not have something chill like power shield or life transfer. Make it as vanilla as possible so it comes down to the skill of the player more so than "do you have this character that was released 2 days ago as a 7* R4 or else you lose!"
Power shield definitely doesn’t come down to skill it comes down to who can draft Deadpool X force, Kate, and sinister. Those metas are just as bad power gain

Then either you’re playing him wrong or super unlucky. Nearly every match I have used him has gone well, on defense or offense. If I don’t think the first special 2 will kill, I use a light combo ender, save some hp, then build back up to a sp2 and sometimes even before then they are dead. I also can keep my muscle mass up pretty consistently. Not to mention he is an incredible stall on defense. Either way, he gets usage in BGsThere’s already been a thread on this subject. And no, gentle does not need a buff. He’s a great attacker and defender. I have my gentle at R3 and he tears it up everywhere I have used himI also have a r3 gentle and counting all the times I have used him, there is no way in hell that he is as consistent as you claim him to be. Bro can barely nuke his matchups much less anything outside of his hard counters and you can't try to nuke in bgs because there's the constant worry of "will all his hits crit" and if one the hits doesn't crit his damage goes from good to bad real fast god forbid he hits anything less than 3 crits because then his damage is awful (which this has happened to me a TON).
