Re: Abyss Villain Team
Make sure you use Purgatory for Aegon - he's the only Skill champ on the easy path; and that Slow passive she places will be priceless against Collector.
Re: The State of MCOC: A Comprehensive Look Into the Game In 2026
Obviously a human being is more complex, but in terms of addressing and resolving things, it becomes less and less possible to satiate those concerns when these lists are being compiled.
When people say "This is wrong and that is broken and this is another issue and that is another problem and...", it becomes more than just the individual issues. It takes on a life of its own, and people tend to join in.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing that people communicate their grievances. I just think that frustration mounts beyond what can be responded to in these cases more often than not, and all they can do is look at one issue at a time, then move on to the next. Naturally they can look at more than one issue at a time, but in terms of resolution, it's impossible to resolve an entire list all at once.
Sometimes these discussions lead to healthy discourse, but more often than not, it ends up being a dumping grounds for frustrations. Even that has a place I suppose, but there are a plethora on the Forum.
Re: Carina’s selector
Medusa duped is one of the most powerful champs in the game but you really can not go wrong with either her or starky. I have personal bias/anecdotal experience with Medusa though she is absolutely insane
Re: The State of MCOC: A Comprehensive Look Into the Game In 2026
The first step to addressing any problem is to acknowledge that the problem exists. I can see why you might consider a post like this to just be piling on and on but you have to understand the post isn't just complaints. It's constructive criticism. It is written with the intention of promoting healthy change for the game. And hey, if you don't feel like you agree with it or feel it's ineffective, that's fine. You're allowed to engage with the game however you feel is best but you shouldn't try to invalidate how other people approach the game and its issues.
Re: The State of MCOC: A Comprehensive Look Into the Game In 2026
First of all, thank you for your response. Even if our thoughts on the game are different I am glad we can start a dialogue because that's the only way to have meaningful change. Keeping in the spirit of conversation that being said I would like to address some of your points.
On your first point: I understand why stores were implemented. I don't think they are necessarily worse, I am sure they make the game rewards easier to balance too. My main point was that they are unsatisfying. I think among other things a large part of why the women's day side event and the new Carina's Challenges were such a hit was that they were immediately rewarding. As soon as you finished the quest there were tangible rewards to claim/open/use. As for grinding and "having to do" the items on the list, I do think they are mandatory. Now, I don't know your account so I can't speak to it but I assume you've spent money on the game. The impact of which can't be understated. Even spending on one sale can be equivalant to months of grinding. To give a personal anecdote, I was very active in 2025 and went into Banquet with about 12 r4s. During Banquet I whaled out and bought 3 odins. By the end of the event not only did I have much more powerful champions available to me but I also had 25-30 r4s. I don't remember the exact number but it's in that ball park. In one event, my roster's strength doubled. Because of that I could be more lenient about the game's grind. So I think it definitely depends on where your account is. Additionally, aside from that list, many events like Colosseum and side events like the poker one we had have generally felt more grindy which should be considered. issue is that most rewards aren't that exciting again and this leads to your second point.
On Ascension: I think your your argument is to be blunt, baseless. Correct me if I'm wrong but you are suggesting that Ascension was there to help address the issue of "seven stars feeling worthless." Players who have most of the seven stars can start to chase ascension instead, that being the thought behind its release. However, that just isn't the case. First of all, Max Sig Dupes weren't really addressed at all, I think if you ask any player they would agree. The six limited ascension champs just don't provide enough value to incentivize pulling max sigs. Additionally, ascension was meant to be an alternative to eight stars. The biggest issue with having a new star level added is that player's don't want to rebuild their rosters. Ascension, because it's in a seperate crystal and because it's not tied to the base pool, does in a way feel like we have to rebuild our rosters. Like, the best way I can explain it is, my current roster doesn't give me any benefit for ascensions. I either pull the ascendable champ or I don't. My base roster is irrelevant if that makes sense. All of that being said, you also failed to mention the biggest issues. That being 1. People just aren't excited about the ascension pool champs. and 2. It's way too monetized. There is no F2P way to ascend new champs (Lizard not included) and even the base pool, the best way to get champs from that is to spend on the empowered crystals.
On Balance, that list was conservative and purposefully so. I think we need to clarify that there is a difference between "viable" and "unbalanced". Unbalanced champs are all viable but not all viable champs are unbalanced. Starky is my favorite champ in the game and I agree he is very potent on attack. You can use Starky, but if you don't you're not at a defecit. However, I would say his impact is definitely not unbalanced. Whereas champions like Nico, Onslaught, Dark Phoenix, Cap Brit, etc. These are unbalanced champions who you are at a defecit if you are not using. The gap between the top champs and even other viable champs is too great. Why would I ever use champions like M'Baku or Blue Marvel, who I'm sure could be usable, when options like Photon and Okoye exist? So yes, there are many viable champions, who you could use. But doing so is actively forcing yourself to fight an uphill battle. You mention statistics and I say, make them public. Maybe community sentiment would change if we saw the numbers. I can only speak on my experience where every war and BGs match I face the same champions again and again and again… Also, let's not use League as an example… Leagure players don't even like League.
On Communications I think the best advice I can give is do don't say. Maybe the SW fiasco wasn't intentional, maybe Kabam does have good intentions but based on the company's own actions how can we be expected to trust them? You don't have enough credibility to have earned that trust. It took massive amounts of outcry for the SW change to be somewhat reverted.
Similarly with the CCP. You say they are being spoken to, but we don't see it's impact. So many content creators have spoken out about ascension and yet we hear no news about plans for improving it. New champions are released and you have CCP member's talking about them feeling weak on release, were these concerns not voiced when talking to them pre release? Or were they just not listened to. The SW fiasco, so many CCP members spoke out against that nerf and offered different solutions, instead we just got what Kabam wanted. So what was the issue there? Essentia has earned mostly negative feedback and its hard to imagine that anyone in the CCP would have agreed that it was good on release. So was that discussed also?
You can say you are talking to them but we just don't see the effects of it. So I say, act more. Show us that our feedback isn't just being ignored. So often we have massive outcry only to recieve the most minuscule response from Kabam. Actions speak louder than words so if you want the community to trust you, do things that will make them trust you.
Thank you for discussing all of this. I truly hope you can take into consideration everything I am saying in this comment and my post. And I hope you understand it isn't meant as an attack on anyone. All of this is in the hopes of improving the game I love and giving a chance to go on for another ten years.
Re: The State of MCOC: A Comprehensive Look Into the Game In 2026
I can understand that take. However, I think your post does also contradict your own statement. You mention the game not being a grind but then go on to say that the content you do regularly, AQ, War, Colosseum are grindy. I think a part of the problem is that the content we do have to do on a regular basis is very tedious. Alliance Content, BGs, Arena's, etc. All of these are very repetitive. I think Alliance Colosseum is a great example. It's not always around but when we do see it, given its three day period and having to level all of the podiums it feels tedious.
Your comment makes me think I could have worded myself better. I think the game definitely has lulls but when we do get content it does feel very grind heavy. Also let's not forget, Kabam themselves have acknowledged the bloat in the game. That's why they are removing the variant quests and trying to unify all of the currencies into essentia.
Re: The State of MCOC: A Comprehensive Look Into the Game In 2026
When you mention the featured crystal ecosystem, I am assuming you are referring to the Empowered Grace and Champion Grace Crystals? If that is the case, then genuine question, isn't locking a key aspect of the game behind a paywall like that inherently damaging to the player base? Pulling new champions early, getting first appearance shine on them and getting additional seven stars are all fine to be monetized. However, a key aspect of the game like ranking up your characters should be more readily available no? I understand you are not part of the ascension team but you must have some idea of the ideology behind all of it, no?
Re: The State of MCOC: A Comprehensive Look Into the Game In 2026
I am sorry but you wrote
On rewards and grind, one of the main reasons we moved towards store-based currencies is because we don’t want players to feel like they have to do everything.
That is exactly what you have done. You nerfed rewards so now what I could have bought with my BG tokens I barely can buy with essentia. You have made a horrible QOL change for the players.
Re: Abyss Villain Team
The IMIW fight was the only one I found annoying on the Hero run so you may have convinced me to go with Serpent if he makes that last 15% easier. Thanks again!
Re: The State of MCOC: A Comprehensive Look Into the Game In 2026
Hi @Kabam Crashed ,
Firstly, always appreciate you taking the time and communication with the community (not expecting this all of the time), it does help with building trust and help the players understand the current situation.
Secondly, I would just like to add (which I'm sure the Kabam team already know) Battlegrounds are really in a bad state. While I know the team aee trying to improve on the gameplay experience with these various matches and meta testing.
However, do hope that Kabam will review the whole process, how players progress through the ranking (both on VT and GC), right now for players that normally would participated in BG, doesn't bother, because it feel too much of a time sink, a players could spend 2 to 3 hrs in BG and feel that they make no progress (which would be fine if the experience is enjoyable.
