I agree with the sentiments here. My 2 biggest concerns right now are:

1. The greedy monetisation of beloved champs
2. Kabams approach to new defenders tilting the scales towards RPG counters and away from player skill.

I hope they can have a better second half of the year.

In all seriousness, I think you are spot on, it's just not a game of strategies or champ knowledge or whatever it was in the past. It's all about buying a defender and then buying a counter. If you don't buy the counter they restrict other options and you can try to figure it out I guess
It's all fine I'll still play whatever crumbs I can share with other progression levels and pretend it's fun until I can't do it anymore. It's been a good 10 years though

Genuinely wonder what the numbers will be for this one. I'm pretty sure that when things like abyss or even necro came out, more people were able to access those. With wheel of fate, most of the playerbase will look at their two possible options for the first fight and not even bother.

Necro enticed players like me with the death counter. Epoch, the completion rewards were good enough to get non Everest loving folks the desire to pick the easiest path for them, revive through Ares and call it good

This? The rewards are so bad comparatively, legions of people won’t touch it, cause if you aren’t exploring all 3 it’s a waste of time and effort.

I’m trying to give this the benefit of the doubt as I don’t mind content that requires specific rank ups to complete it. That used to be one of the challenges of act content before it was nerfed to the ground. But the restrictiveness of this content doesn’t really look like fun. I’ll wait to see from YouTubers what’s needed for the second and third runs, before I have a go as don’t want to end up ranking up a champion for the first quest, that isn’t usable on the 3rd one.

Depending on the rank ups I need to do, might not even be worth it to get 1 rank 4 champion. The rewards for the first run are pretty rubbish, and if I don’t think I can clear the 3rd quest I won’t bother with the first one.
