You say that the pressure to spend is self-inflicted and that's technically true. No one has to spend, or even install the game, or even get up in the morning, or shower, or eat, but people do, and have opinions, and you can't only give them 2 false options of either sucking it up and keep playing or quitting. There's an extra option of voicing their opinions on top of what they're already doing, and opinions DO guide Kabam.

To keep up in competitive tiers, the game needs more money and engagement than ever.

If you consider prestige being as monetized as it is today (top 30 EQ/AQ, statcasts etc) sig stones seem to be on the lower end.

I really hope they dont gatekeep a hulkling /scorpion level champ behind cyber monday milestones like they did with torch and RG, as then it just shows the reward acquisition is predominantly behind spending and less so grinding.
