Re: Is Quake ACTUALLY too broken to be a 7 star or AT LEAST a 6 star?
The problem with champs like Quake and Ghost isn't just that they are bad for the game; it's that the efforts to neuter them are also really bad for the game. Back in the day that they were relevant, Kabam would just slap anti-miss/evade on basically every boss they designed, which did prevent Ghost and Quake from being used, but also a ton of other champions who relied on those same mechanics. This was just as I was discovering Tigra and I really wanted to use her in content, but every damn boss refused let me because she was relying on the same basic mechanic as Ghost did and Kabam had to shut that mechanic down. Same for every other champ that used some kind of Miss mechanic, or an Evade mechanic. The constant need to make sure that Ghost and Quake didn't just steamroll the entire game all the time made the game miserable all the time.
I absolutely agree with Kabam's decision to retire both champs. That said, I wouldn't mind if Kabam gave them the Magik treatment and reintroduced them to the game after a rework of some kind. I don't really care for Quake as a character so I'm not especially bummed if she never becomes a 7*, but I really like Ghost as a character so I would love for her to return in some fashion even if it is with an altered kit.
Re: Is Quake ACTUALLY too broken to be a 7 star or AT LEAST a 6 star?
While you're right that Kabam has tight control over metas, she's still broken.
Quake is bad because she bypasses basic game design. The devs can spend 6 months making a great champ and she can ignore all of it. That's a giant problem. What's the point of designing hurdles if one of the solutions comes in and ignores it all? That's a bs champion for a developer and the new hurdles they have to set up to counter her will be bad for everyone else.
I've got 20+ masters titles and did full dex quake back in the day. It was fun to have that "ability", knowing you could do it and most couldn't, but design-wise she's a stain on the contest and the devs are glad they got away from her.
Re: Will there ever be dual or even a 3 way class 7 star crystals?
I believe there's a basic colossal nexus in the new solo coliseum rewards.
Re: Will there ever be dual or even a 3 way class 7 star crystals?
maybe a 7 Star Abyss Nexus would be nice this year or even the Colossal Nexus like the Titan from the Banquet milestone.
Re: Is Quake ACTUALLY too broken to be a 7 star or AT LEAST a 6 star?
Comparing a completely broken Attacker to a bunch of unpleasant, near-broken Defenders is just obtuse.
Problematic defenders are hard for the players to cope with.
Problematic Attackers are hard for the game designers to cope with.
And as pointed out by others, the problem is that if the game-designers need to "Quake-proof" all their challenging content, then that also means the collateral damage of countering the abilities of vast numbers of other champs.
Re: 7* Battlecasts?
Which is damn shame because I far prefer battlecasts over statcasts. I find far greater value in them in improving my champions. The only use I have for statcasts are their ability to improve the overall performance of defenders.
Re: Is Quake ACTUALLY too broken to be a 7 star or AT LEAST a 6 star?
I remember Kabam placing a True Focus on THE WHOLE Boss Island to counter Quake. But the side effect was really bad since it also affected champs like Tigra, Ghost, Mr. Negative, Kitty, etc. It indirectly reduced the number of options for the Boss Island just so they can increase the difficulty while at the same time making Quake ineffective. At the current meta that will make a lot of champs ineffective like Count Nefaria, Viv Vision, Prowler, etc. all of which are common champions used in War.
Just to counter one broken champ. I was a heavy Quake user but war and planning for quests is more fun without her.
Re: I want to play, not just pay
@Raffo ,
I'm little struggled to understand your point.
Currently I have expiring Revive and Energy refill NOT because of lack of contents to do, but because Kabam have change their policy and give out lots more Revives and Energy Refill, which is a wonderful and I'm very thankful. It let me be more engaging without stressing out the lack of resources. This is a right direction, which Kabam changed from a few months ago when they wwre planning to do the complete opposite direction, after so many feedback from the players and CCP.
As for contents, I can honestly say we have so much contents (that it is near the boarder of overwhelming). BG, MEQ, multiple Side Quest, new type of Incursion, Solo Coliseum coming up which give the best and more progressive rewards, level that only 2600 top spenders got in the recent Banquet. There are a lot for players to do, and honestly the challenge is finding the time or balance with real life time to do them.
Clearly you are not happy with the state of MCoC for you, but I'm not sure what you mentioned here is the issue. The only thing I can thing of is maybe the lack of Big Endgame content like EoP and Necropolie.
Do elaborate your thought.
