The other protection is probably because of special connoisseur since it's active until you throw a special with prowess active.

He has two protection passives. One is removed by heavy, the other is disabled during your Specials

I'm honestly surprised people don't like Gentle.. because the modern trend is that players like champs who make troublesome defenders a potato - it's never been my style to chase counter attackers.. I usually prefer to use game play to counter defenders when possible, though modern defender design is absolutely trending away from this
But Gentle is the first champ I've actually ranked and used that is such a hard counter to a defender.. which seems to be what people are after now days.. I remember thinking I could start a war fight against BE.. put my phone down, to feed my cat and come back and start fighting and still win lol
But yeah, unfortunately mcoc is becoming more of a card game than a fighting game lately
