Ahh, Nostalgia…

I had explored all Variants at the time they were released with one lone exception: about 6-7 paths in the last two quests of Ultron’s Assault Chapter 3.

At the time, it was the most difficult and offered the least benefit. The final few paths had some doozies from back then—Korgs, Modoks, Electro, a nasty Hulk and the ever present spectre of Ultrons set to trip you up with tricky nodes. And the map was the old kind—twisty, with added linkages that offered nothing more than an excuse to make a player run it one more time. I recalled it being a bit of an ordeal.

Not any longer—the Cosmic and Science slates in game are pretty much the best, and the likes of Medusa, Serpent, Deathless She-Hulk and Karolina made quick work of it.

What gave me pause several years ago had become a simple way to knock out a couple of Daily Solo events. How was I ever worried about 5* defenders and a 6* boss?
