Re: Noob planning - Epoch Gauntlet
First time run would probably be 10-20 for the paths and 20-30 for the boss.
It depends on if you study how Ares works. I'm also not sure if they will keep the mechanic where every revive gives you one vigor charge. If they do then you can just revive spam until the final phase. If not, you will need to learn how to dex both specials
Save your 20% revives for Ares
Giving up mcoc
The Carina's have also been fun since this are the first one's I've done at the same time as release aside from the act 7 ones, finally pulled a starky too from the 4 vol 4 objectives. I think the only grievance I've had is the confusing decision to not allocate any rewards
to the upcoming epoch gauntlet outside of the Carina's objectives which sucks but whatever.
9.4 is also dropping soon which, due to breaks here and there, act 9 is the only one which I have been able to do as it releases. Hopefully I'll still have enough revives to tackle it after the villain gauntlet. The rewards are okay I guess.
I think it's a good time to quit on a high note after I'm done with act 9 because of a couple of reasons.
For in game related reasons, I'd say the inability(or unwillingness) of Kabam to streamline battlegrounds matchmaking especially in lower tiers. I believe after the 30 champ prestige introduction, it's easier than ever to just make sure an acc like mine(around 28k on champion prestige alone) won't face more than +-3k which is around 90k extra/less rating which I feel is reasonable especially below mysterium/quantum. You know if I'm in quantum, then yeah I don't mind facing an acc with 36k prestige because that's basically above my tier but why is it that even in diamond to vibranium & all the way to arcane, I face accounts like these regularly? It doesn't matter if I go in immediately into bgs,or wait a week or 2, a lot of the accounts I, and I'm assuming most others face are always larger. I really love bgs and I wish they'd fix it. But oh well, I guess its not worth complaining about since I don't spend and the money has to be made somehow.
Anyway the other big reason is how much ranks feel like a brain dead rat race.Again, I know the money has to be made somehow but it still feels draining going through the same cycle again and again. In case I don't delete my acc after I finish act 9, I'm sure if I come back like 6-8 years later if the game is still alive 7* will probably be finally cycled out. Just like the guys who had 4*,5*, it feels draining knowing that eventually the champs become obsolete. On another point, this sane thing is what makes endgame content especially unplayable after a while. Like I can go do necropolis just to test out my champs but realistically the rewards are already dated in like 3 years which again, makes sense because money has to be made, but still feels bad.
The future of this game is also questionable sometimes. I've seen quite a number of people who share the same sentiment of quitting after 9.4 but I've done some research and there's posts about the game dying from 2021 & 2019 so maybe not but I'd say moreso the cycle of kabam adds a new trash feature/change-people complain-kabam makes post that doesn't capture the complaint fully- people complain a lot-kabam makes it slightly better. I guess you could say that's how they are able to give a balanced and slightly fairer playing experience but it's bonkers that even 7 & 5 years later the experience is quite similar.
I can say this game is genuinely the best marvel game especially with the introduction of many exciting champs from comics that are always fun to read about when I can, save for a few peculiar ones. Other marvel games don't offer this much range of champs and experience especially to this level. Though I have 2 gripes, first, okay maybe I'm the minority on this but I started with the marvel movies with iron man and Captain America all the way till marvel started doing peculiar things after endgame which is around 2019, why don't we have the main avengers cast especially their op versions?(Thor Infinity war/endgame,Cap endgame,Professor Hulk) this isn't a big deal but still...
Anyway the other is just the money making decisions, again I know its just womp womp for ftp like me because money is needed to continue pumping out champs but sometimes it feels like decisions are made with improper judgemen with no regard for fun/ sense/comic accuracy (sometimes).
First case, Dark Phoenix. Literally one of the strongest beings in marvel then kabam make her into a pesky defender who's only ability is to deal unavoidable damage to you.
Not represented-Maker. Ok this is just bad design not really profit mongering but I have to call it out. I've read about maker, he's supposed to be so damn powerful but he's just... solid,also(dormammu- controls a whole dimension,Odin-bro its odin) but anyway these are just random gripes
2nd case-Ascension-No issues except why are there champion tokens too?? If we say that half the 7* pool will be ascendable in a year, no matter how much you spend, will you even get your select champ?
3rd is debatable but I feel like kabam may hold back certain good champs from becoming 7* because of money prospect even when game design has matched/exceeded the champion already.
For example, my absolute favourite mcoc champ is Hercules (yes,Hercules) and I have to watch cull, karolina, danos, serpent, dp & hulkling walk around even though they are arguably better than him, either because kabam feel he's too strong,or they have deals in mind. CGR fits the bill too but I think its different case if you look at his impact outside of bgs but in bgs I can say it's matched / exceeded by cull. Also Doom,Kate(Ok yeah she's the only valid hold back) and alike.
These others are unrelated to the game itself but also just the fact that the youtuber who got me into it has been inactive for like 2 years(Brian Grant), really fun guy, inspired me to go fully ftp & the only mcoc streams I could actually watch to date, the other one is RichTheMan, I think his vids were the first ones I watched, really good updates on the game as a whole.
The other is just life if I could simplify it, mcoc especially with my goals in it, means giving hours to do quests and get better at using champs, used to get in like 6 to 8 hours a day but at least now this year its been 2 to 2½ but increasing. Before I thought it'd be possible to be moderately competitive as a ftp player and while I do think it is, that would require spending even more time but now playing arena which is honestly the most soul draining experience which is the exact
opposite of what I want in a game, shout out to anyone who does arena. But yeah coming
to terms with that has helped finalise the
decision. I think the only thing I could show up
for is act 9 crucible but I don't know. I wish
Kabam allowed giving accounts away coz as
much as I may never touch it again, this is like
a minimum of 4k hours of work, most of them
spent dilly dallying but still, worth saving...I dunno, maybe I'll just delete the app & the
account stays but that may lead me to come
back if a crazy event comes up ...not sure. If
anyone read this whole thing...damn.
Re: Battlegrounds is a major waste of time
They'll never do this because it's the one thing that will actually help
Re: Battlegrounds is a major waste of time
Kabam thinks testing “new metas” or mechanics like 40 decks, 5 bans or no points for health is going to help. The reality is for BGs to stop feeling stale, there’s going to be a need for Blacklists for both attackers and defenders and not Blacklists how it’s incorporated in AW (which is based on how many people vote for a ban).
This Blacklist has to come from Kabam directly in collaboration with high tier BG players. This way, there can be some metas where we don’t see Serpent, Deathless Thanos, and Dark Phoenix on the top row of a BGs deck
Re: Battlegrounds is a major waste of time
Battlegrounds couldn’t keep beroman in the game!!!!
Yes i know he quit for other reasons; however
You would think the guy that seems like he has about a 50-50 chance of winning the whole tournament every month wouldn’t quit.
I mean, he gets the best rewards so if the experience was good, it would outweigh any other issues he would have. Since he’s quitting and he’s the best at battlegrounds; I think that tells you the quality of the experience that the rest of us are getting.
If it was the only thing I enjoyed about this game, I wouldn’t play it either. Luckily I do like the story and the monthly quest. I just wish they did more stuff like that.

DDidn't Read the thread or comments.
I Agree with the header alone.
Re: Unable to play the game
Had the same. After update the game logged out and it won't show login option with Kabam ID instead it prompted to connect to Google Account.
This was fixed after a reinstall and I was able to login with Kabam ID. But now everytime I launch the game it still prompts to connect to Google Account not once but twice. When the game opens on the home screen it shows unable to sign... which I just close and the game seems to run fine.
New End Game Content Idea
Re: thoughts on bero leaving the game?
I have played the game from the beginning. I was there when both Beroman and Pepe were constantly accused of mercing in comments and all over the forums. Back then I disliked both of them for it. Mercing is bad and shouldn't be allowed but it is not nearly as awful as people make it out to be. Bero and Pepe were good at the game, why would they not try to make money doing something they genuinely enjoy? I would bet a lot of money a large majority of people being negative about it would take the money and do the content if offered, even more so if they had a guarantee they wouldnt be caught.
I have watched a lot of Beros content and streams since coming back to the game in fall. He clearly loves the game. He is also always very genuine with commenters by trying to help. He does not talk down to people ever. He almost never talks very ill of Kabam. I genuinely believe Lagacy talks negatively much worse, and more often than Bero.
I feel like an idiot having to defend a phone game content creator but people are so out of line. He has invested 9 years of his life not just in the game, but also producing content for its players to help them. It is extremely unfair by Kabam not to let him into the CCP, and then to make a move that actively steals viewers from him. Objectively, what they did with drops will do that. Whether it is one person or all his viewers it doesnt matter. It is the principle. Why spit in the face of your biggest bgs creator? One of the biggest creators for the game in general. He was a very good ambassador for the game. It is sad to see him go
