Re: 7* Ascension literally needs ONE change
To be honest, I kinda wish someone would actually list them. For the most part, the reasons I've been hearing have tended to be vague (it sucks), indeterminate (everyone says it sucks so it sucks), highly subjective (its too complicated), or like this complaint qualitatively dubious.
7* Ascension is not the same thing as 6* Ascension. 6* Ascension is a kind of special rank up intended to increase the power of 6* champs to make them competitive with 7* champs up to a certain point. 7* Ascension is not intended to do any of that. 7* Ascension is intended to replace 8* rarity (at least temporarily) by taking all the things that a new rarity adds to the game economy and retrofitting them onto 7* scaffolding. It is intended to reset the champion chase as new rarities do without immediately replacing 7* rosters that have had a lot of awakening and sig level investment put into them.
When people say its more complicated than it needs to be compared to rank ups, and it offers insufificent additional power compared to rank ups, they are asking Ascension to do things it is not intended to do, and in fact the devs explicitly do not want it to do. It is not intended to offer a dramatic increase in power: if that was the intent they would not have set the numbers so low. It is actually the reverse: it is intended to offer only a moderate amount of power increase, because the explicit problem with new rarities in the past was dealing with the fact that new rarities must roll out slowly in general (that's a foundational element of the monetization systems of the game) but then there's the problem of bridging the otherwise enormous power gap between the old and new rarities. 5* and 6* champs tried to deal with that with weird rank overlaps that actually served to radically reduce the lifetime of new rarities and force earlier resets, and Ascension was the stop gap mechanic to try to better smooth that out. 7* Ascension is the extension of that, reversing Ascension from being the bridge from 7s to 8s, to being a replacement for 8s, or at least a wedge between 7s and 8s.
While I don't think Ascension is perfect, most of the things people seem to be complaining about are things I think not only aren't bad, they are things that absolutely have to be there for it to function properly. In many cases most of the alternatives I can think of would be much worse. And as I am actually perfectly willing to continue to state, it was the players who asked for a "more creative alternative" to releasing new rarities, and it was me saying for years, going all the way back to the 5* launch, be careful what you wish for, because if you don't understand why new rarities exist, you'll probably be less than thrilled about any alternative to them.
I have yet to hear anyone suggest a significant modification to Ascension that a) doesn't make things worse and b) doesn't break a feature that is mandatory, and thus would never happen. Small tweaks, sure, Major structural ones? I'm all ears.
Re: Epoch of Pain: Hero - who are you planning to use?
With max boosts and suicides, he's going to brute force his way through many opponents. I remember hitting 90k mediums with him in the ordeal challenge against vision. He's one of my top r5 candidates. I have him at max sig, so that'll help a lot against power sting opponents. I really don't care about revive count since we've been given so many, and he's going to save a lot of time. He'll easily take down most opponents in under two minutes.
Re: Battle grounds
The season starting tier should be based on a 3 month rolling average for how high people finish in GC… with those regularly playing at the highest level starting somewhere in Vibranium
Re: Deep Dive: Ruby Thursday
She looks crazy I think I finally have some hope, first things first, attack:
209k burst, Jean was already down to 50% purely from the instant ruptures tho
And organic circuitry wasn't even fully close to expiring meaning that 209k burst can go even higher, meaning she might even be able to punch a full rank above.
Reverse control immunity which is obviously huge, and she can't land crits which will be great for the likes of Britain and Sinister, but we know she's mainly meant for Jean Cassandra Gentle and Onslaught. Only downside I can see so far is no aar immunity so Domino is a big no but that's about it.
Utility and damage both great, I think she's very easily going to replace either Maker or Bastion in my deck.
Defense: she looks like a 4 but she will be a 4.5 on any meta with power gain, on paper it doesn't sound too bad but I think it will be for a few reasons.
- Hulkling is instant death no matter what.
- She lowers your combat power rate a good amount as is.
- Every single time she throws sp1 she gets autoblock and the only thing that works to counter it is undermine (sig 200 Super Skrull incoming ig).
- If she's max sig you have to be very careful with parry while her organic circuitry is active cause if she hits you and the block wasn't well timed you take damage.
- Unblockable sp2 looks like a pain in the ass to dex no thanks.
Anyways I'm excited for her, looks like they did her justice and we aren't getting another Blue Assvel.
Event quest unbalanced
Re: Event quest unbalanced
Its coming in May. Also, those numbers dont really mean anything....you should still be able to win easily.
Re: Why doesn’t anyone use Dust against Nameless collector?
I'm sure she'd work well against him, but there are better champs than her for path clearing and that's a big part of it.
Re: Why can’t endgame content work like Crucible so we can still do other quests congruenrly?
Yeah I was in the middle of my Ordeal run and wasn't able to complete Saturday night and Sunday had so much going on that I wasn't able to finish the Ordeal until Monday morning, meaning I had to miss out on the entire Sunday Weekly event which gives the really good account boosting rewards. You should AT LEAST be able to do Daily's/weekly no matter what other content you're in.
Re: Account banned / suspended
It references another cheater who said he got banned because he played in Mexico (note - he obviously wasn't banned for playing in Mexico). Also, OP, where are you? We see you've logged on since you've been called out, but still haven't commented here. Please do. We would love to hear your next explanation.
Re: R5 now or wait????
Completely dependant on if you have a champ you really wanna take to r5 as your first r5 or not.
I did because Odin is my favourite champ of all time, so I immediately took him to r5 as soon as I got the t5a the other day.
I also don't care if I end up with another cosmic r5, so there's that.
