To the Kabam team
Most players understand that new systems need to support the game financially, and the community has generally accepted early-access monetization in the past. But locking something as impactful as Ascension behind spending until 2027 risks sending the wrong message to the people who have supported this game for years. For many of us, Marvel Contest of Champions isn’t just another mobile game, it’s something we’ve invested time, effort, and community into over a decade now. When a system that directly affects champion strength and competitive modes feels out of reach for an entire year unless you spend real money, it can make loyal players feel like their dedication matters less than their wallets. Even if the intention is to strengthen the game in the long run, this approach with Ascension could unintentionally erode trust and goodwill in a community that has stuck with the game through every major change. A healthier balance between monetization and accessible progression would help ensure players feel included in the game's future rather than left behind.
Given this, should also consider the wider ripple effects that a long pay-first rollout of Ascension could create across the game. Because Ascension directly increases champion stats and prestige, it risks affecting the perceived fairness of competitive modes like Battlegrounds and Alliance War, where even small advantages matter. Over time this could also strain alliances, as recruitment and roster expectations may begin favoring players who have access to ascended champions and the newest champions, unintentionally pushing dedicated but non-spending players to the margins. Just as importantly, motivation can decline when a progression system feels unattainable for an entire year; players who believe they are permanently behind the curve may reduce engagement or stop pushing challenging content altogether. If this sentiment continues to spread across forums, YouTube discussions, and community spaces, it could shape a negative narrative that becomes difficult to reverse, regardless of future adjustments. On the design side, this could also complicate content balance, tuning content for ascended champions risks excluding others, while tuning it for non-ascended rosters diminishes the value of the system for those who paid for early access. Taken together, these pressures could lead to player fatigue, community division, and long-term trust issues that outweigh the short-term benefits of monetizing the system for an extended period.
Now, I think a healthier approach would be to introduce Ascension with monetized early access, but ensure that a clear and reasonably short path exists for the broader player base to begin earning the resources through gameplay within a few months rather than a full year. Kabam could still offer paid bundles, faster progression, and premium milestones for players who want to accelerate their access, while gradually introducing Ascension materials through difficult but achievable content such as endgame quests, Battlegrounds objectives, or special events. This would preserve monetization opportunities without creating the impression that competitive progression is locked behind spending for an extended period. Just as importantly, communicating a transparent roadmap, showing when and how Ascension resources will enter normal gameplay through Free to Play means, would help players feel included in the system rather than excluded from it. When players believe that dedication and skill will eventually earn them access, they are far more likely to remain engaged, supportive of the game’s direction, and willing to invest both time and money into its long-term success.

And keep in mind, last year, Dark Phoenix cost around 500 dollars. So, you could get around 7 copies of Dark Phoenix with 3600 if my math is correct
9.2.6 LOTAN BOSS IS BUGGED
Went in to do exploration did the whole fight and phases all fine. In the final phase you have to gain an untouchable and dash into her final hit of sp attack to reduce her charges. When you get untouchable from dexing the second to last hit, then you go in you still get hit despite the untouchable being on the screen. Tried multiple times with all the champs on my team and no change. I wasted revives and potions on it because I thought I was doing something wrong but no. I went on MCOC NOOBs LOTAN fight guide and others have said the same today
