How Important is Roster Size and Prestige Really? (edited by a mod for clarity)

I was worried this post would be met with negativity. I've tried to have these conversations in other threads and that's mostly what I heard. How I must have been concerned with prestige because mine is "obviously" poor. 🤦 I'm super glad so many of you are sharing here. 👍😁

I’ll add a note. My account is 480k and prestige 7660. Account roster size doesn’t matter. I can hold my own for defense attack quest and personal quest with no issues.

This sums it up. Account size is meaningless, prestige determines AQ rewards. Skill is most important, prestige is somewhat important, account size is Cyclops important.

I somewhat disagree. Prestige us useful for AQ, but overall Rating is useful internally. Many things can be determined by Rating. There's also my own personal value on it. I've put time and effort into my Rating. I don't consider it worthless. It's actually one of the misconceptions. Remember Gemgate 12.0? People were lost because they spent a great deal of time selling and focusing on Prestige alone.

I definitely see your point. But I always look at those 800k accounts a fluff. Dudes ranked up all them 1/2/3 star champs to max to fluff their accounts. I actually sold all my 2s before kabam started this champion requirements. Honestly if it wasn’t for that my account would be around 420k. What matters to me if my top 30 champs. Those will be the ones I rotate for alliance quest, war, defense and certain bosses in story when act 6 rolls around.

Other than that it’s just random tidbits kabam throws our way to make those tiny starred champs meaningful.

My alliance never said and forced people to raise prestige still we are now a 7k prestige alliance (Mine is 8k)
If you play well and rank your choice champs then prestige will come by soon but ranking only for prestige is a bad choice because that prestige champ might be one who cannot help you in other aspects of game and might not save your pots.
So in advice go for champs that you like playing rather than going for prestige just for the sake of AQ because resources aren't easy if you don't spend (and here I'm at zero spending in 3 years of this game)

And further i disagree that you in Platinum 3 under 5k prestige
Even though you are too much skilled but P3 isn't a joke, it requires atleast 4-5 champs at 4/55 in defence otherwise your opponents can't spare you and won't give a single kill
So it's impossible for a 4700 prestige alliance to be in P3
I even say that G1 also a trouble for such a weak defence

@Panchulon21 I used to sell all 1,2 and a lot of 3s. Kept my account low and just focused on what champs I knew would really make a difference. I do agree it's easy to "fluff".

@Horror_punk yeah high g1 to p3 was tougher for me for sure. My prestige was 4700 at the time but my alliance mates were around 6000-7500. I was the weakest account there. At that level, you don't get much for defense kills but my defense was definitely below par for that level. I had a couple 4/55s but only got a kill or 2. I definitely didn't have an impressive defense at all at that level. The grind to do so was just too monotonous for me.

@GroundedWisdom that was an opinion I was hoping to get in the conversation actually. Value is subjective. So a roster size is "worth" less to me than it is to you. Like baseball cards. It's simply printed cardboard or something very precious you're willing to pay money for. So your pride in your roster is the "worth". I had a feeling that would be the case for many players. Especially on the higher end.

I am over 800k now and I don’t see it as fluff at all. I count on rank ups for solo rewards, SA event and also I have to spend iso and gold somewhere. Keeping champs and not selling just helps you collect more shards and gold. Plus some champs will only have a one time use in a very certain situation and it’s nice to have them maxed if you ever need them

I think prestige should be shown on our profiles. Also the titles are a good indication of skill (uncollected/ elders bane)

titles are not a good indication of skill

i think prestige is not important because the crystals can give garbage players high prestige champs and great players low, like me i would say im very good but my prestige is about 5800k i have more than 5 characters 4/55 but they all have low prestige because my luck isn't great when it comes to prestige champs I've been playing for more than 3 years. Then there are those people who have been playing for like months but there prestige trumps mine because rng is on there side.

I thought your alliance prestige was 4700
Now i realised it's your individual prestige

I have 5 of 4* at rank 5 with a 320k rating, no 5* past R2. My 5 maxed 4* are those most able to get me through content rather than maxing my prestige.

If I maxed all my 2 and 3* my total rating would rise considerably but it shows nothing other than my willingness to waste resources on junk. If I ranked on prestige I would struggle to finish content.

    Total rating is meaningless.

Prestige is fine, unless you invested everything into a number without considering the usefulness of those champs to earn rewards.

@Horror_punk that was just my prestige. I couldn't imagine 30 people at my size competing in that level. I don't think that would go over well. Lol

@phillgreen I think a lot of higher end players have a lot of the same desired champs that contain a good prestige. Blade, Corvus, KM, etc.

Although Hype is among my top 5*s. So is HE. His prestige is bad but I love him. Same with Vision, SW, and Gully.

For AQ prestige is a must. You can rank any character just not a character with super low prestige. I wouldn't rank any character that is below 10k 5 star 200 sig. Anything above 10k is good for me.

You are an end game player. I'll probably retire in real life before I ever got to the point of those qualifications being "good enough."

I think that's what's so interesting about this game is the various levels of commitment and value in each person's own profile.

Further the higher your prestige goes tougher the aq will become
At one point of time 3 minutes feels low in a map6 fight if your starting prestige is 8k or more

Definite downside to having been the weakest roster by far. AQ was significantly harder but the rewards were better so the trade off was there
