Alliance war question

Our alliance only has 24 in it. Obviously people have to sit out some wars during season, but need to participate in 5 wars to collect rewards. Now is it five wars in general with the same ally or is it five consecutive wars? I saw a mod post 5 consecutive the other day and was confused. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

    The mod misspoke. You need to fight in five wars with your alliance as of the last time you joined. Those wars must have occurred after the last time you joined, but they do not need to be consecutive. In other words, if you join an alliance and then fight in three wars, then sit out two wars but do not leave the alliance and then you fight in two more wars, you've reached the five war requirement to qualify for rewards.

    But if you join an alliance and fight three wars, then leave, then come back and fight in two, you have not qualified. That's true even if you did not join another alliance when you left, and even if you literally left for one minute and then immediately came back. The act of joining an alliance restarts the counter.

    Thanks that’s what I thought, but just got confused when they said consecutive. This will make it easier for planning
